In a move to further bolster their presence in the Middle East, La Liga giants Real Madrid have announced a new sponsorship deal with Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB). The regional financial firm will now serve as the official bank sponsor for the club, providing a significant boost to Real Madrid's profile in the region.

The partnership with SAIB is set to offer the bank a host of exclusive benefits and opportunities. These include:

  • Hosting events in collaboration with the club
  • Offering promotions linked to Real Madrid
  • Creating digital content featuring the club

In addition, Real Madrid will assist SAIB in expanding its customer base and enhancing its brand awareness, both within Saudi Arabia and on an international scale.

Distinct from other partnerships

Real Madrid have been keen to clarify that this sponsorship deal is distinct from other activities involving Saudi entities. Specifically, it is separate from the activities of the state-owned Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which owns Premier League side Newcastle United.

The club also reassured that the SAIB sponsorship will not impact its long-standing partnership with Emirates, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates. Emirates remains the main shirt sponsor for the club.

Real Madrid’s director of institution relations, Emilio Butragueño, said:

“We're really excited about this partnership. It will help us to grow as a club and strengthen the relationship with all of our fans in Saudi Arabia, a country that is undergoing tremendous expansion in football terms.

“We believe it comes at the perfect time for us, so we're really pleased and hope this alliance can last for many years.”

Real Madrid's growing presence in the Middle East

This latest sponsorship deal adds to Real Madrid's growing list of commercial partnerships in the Middle East. Earlier this month, the club announced a multi-year deal with Visit Dubai, marking the club's first-ever official destination partner.

Under this partnership, the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), which manages Visit Dubai, will provide exclusive travel and soccer experiences for Real Madrid fans. It will also hold several fan activations throughout the sponsorship period.

In return, Visit Dubai will gain branding assets and hospitality within Real Madrid's newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Real Madrid's strategic partnerships in the Middle East, including the latest with SAIB, demonstrate the club's commitment to expanding its global footprint. These deals not only provide financial benefits for the club but also offer unique opportunities for fans and sponsors alike.

As the club continues to forge new partnerships, it will be interesting to see how these relationships shape the future of Real Madrid and its global brand.
