In Malik Scott's view, Micah Richards has the potential to become a Misfits heavyweight champion

In a surprising revelation, Malik Scott, the coach of former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, has claimed that Micah Richards, a former Premier League player and current Sky Sports pundit, could potentially become the Misfits heavyweight champion. This claim adds an exciting twist to the sports world as it suggests a possible transition from football to boxing for Richards.

Richards had an illustrious 14-year career in football during which he made 203 appearances in the Premier League. He scored seven goals and notably won the Premier League with Manchester City in 2012. His performance on the field was marked by his agility and strength - traits that are equally important in boxing.

Since retiring from professional football, Richards has carved out a successful career as a television pundit for Sky Sports. His insightful analysis of matches and his dynamic relationship with former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane have provided memorable moments for viewers.

Boxing potential

Malik Scott sees potential beyond Richard's football prowess. He believes that Richards could be a force to reckon with in KSI's Misfits Boxing promotion and even rise to become its champion. Given Richard's physicality during his time on the pitch coupled with his competitive spirit, this prediction does not seem far-fetched.

Malik Scott, Deontay Wilder coach, said:

"Micah’s good. He’s heavy-handed, obviously strong. He's not slow. He’s athletic and has got coordination. I enjoyed the whole session. I'm trying to get him in another session. If he wanted to become Misfits heavyweight world champion, he could absolutely do it. I'm backing Big Meeks, baby.

"If he wanted me to train him, I would get with him and he would go and win that s—t. Absolutely. If I trained Micah from 12 years old, he'd have been heavyweight champion of the world.”

The idea of Premier League players appearing on Misfits is not unheard of either; Danny Simpson, another Premier League winner took on Danny Aarons last year resulting in a split draw contest. While it remains uncertain whether or not Micah Richards will take up this new challenge and step into the boxing ring anytime soon, one thing is clear - if he does decide to make this transition from football punditry back into competitive sports via boxing - it would certainly add an intriguing chapter to his already impressive sporting journey.
