Pakistani telecommunications giant, Zong 4G, has recently announced its plans to broadcast English soccer's top-tier Premier League in Pakistan. This move comes as a result of a collaboration with the over-the-top streaming service, Myco.
Zong customers will now have the privilege of streaming Premier League games directly on the My Zong App. This is made possible due to an agreement with Myco, which holds digital streaming rights for the competition within Pakistan.
This partnership not only brings international football closer to Pakistani fans but also allows users of the My Zong App access to other sporting competitions that fall under Myco's rights portfolio.
In addition to English football, users can also view Pakistani cricket’s National T20 Cup competition among other sports events via the app. The broadening sports coverage is part of an ongoing effort by both companies to provide diverse and engaging content for their audience.
The duo collaborated for the recent Cricket World Cup 2023 streaming as well
This isn't the first time that these two entities have joined forces. They previously partnered up for free live-streaming of ICC 2023 Cricket World Cup through the same platform - a successful collaboration that laid down solid groundwork for this current Premier League partnership.
Earlier in 2023, Myco secured broadcasting rights for another major event - The Pakistani Super League cricket competition across Middle East and North Africa regions - further establishing its importance as a key player in Pakistani sports broadcasting space.
Zong's involvement in sports goes beyond just broadcasting matches. Prior to ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, it collaborated with local news agency ProPakistani for tournament activations featuring competitions and themed prizes.
Moreover, recognizing esports' potential growth within Pakistan, Zong launched its first-ever esports platform, Zong Engage, in October. This initiative is aimed at fostering the growth of esports in the country.
Zong 4G's partnership with Myco to broadcast Premier League games and other sports events marks a significant step forward for sports fans in Pakistan. By leveraging technology and strategic partnerships, they are bringing international and local sporting events closer to their audience while also contributing to the growth of esports within the country.
