Basketball fans around the world will be able to buy a pass to watch matches from the tournament which kicks off later this month

Basketball enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the FIBA Basketball World Cup via the NBA App and NBA.com, as the two platforms will be streaming content from FIBA’s digital platform, Courtside 1891.

The tournament, which is scheduled to run from August 25 to September 10, will be accessible to fans in 20 territories, including the UK.

Courtside 1891 will offer a FIBA World Cup Pass for £21.99, granting fans access to all the games of the competition.

In addition, to live games, the pass will also provide extended highlights, top plays, and the ability to watch matches on demand. However, this pass will only be available for the duration of the World Cup.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup is a major event in the sport, featuring 32 teams competing in 92 games over a span of 16 days. Fans can purchase the Courtside 1891 pass at NBA.com/WorldCup, and the full game schedule can be found at NBA.com/FIBA.

This digital coverage will supplement live broadcasts provided by FIBA’s broadcast partners in over 190 territories.

The 20 territories that can access the Courtside 1891 pass through the NBA’s platforms include Angola, Argentina, Cape Verde, Cote D’Ivoire, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Puerto Rico, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

Last year, the NBA integrated NBA TV and its League Pass product into its app as part of a revamp that introduced new features.

The inclusion of FIBA’s Courtside 1891 content on the platform is a strategic move to engage fans during the offseason and broaden the range of basketball content available.

NBA partnership can unlock FIBA's untapped potential

In a significant stride towards enhancing global sports access, the partnership between FIBA and the NBA marks a pivotal moment for basketball enthusiasts around the world.

The inclusion of the FIBA World Cup within the NBA app not only expands the reach of this premier international basketball tournament but also underscores the growing synergy between major sporting organizations.

As fans eagerly await the tournament, the convenience of accessing live games, highlights, and exclusive content through the NBA app promises to redefine the spectator experience.

This collaboration exemplifies the power of technological innovation in revolutionizing the way we engage with sports, making the FIBA World Cup an event that transcends borders and bridges cultures through the universal language of basketball.
