The coverage notably extends up to and includes Euro 2028, which is set to be hosted by the UK and Ireland

DAZN, the renowned international sports streaming service, has successfully extended its rights agreement to cover European soccer’s UEFA national team tournaments in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) for an additional two years. This early extension builds on their current agreement which was set to conclude after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The extension guarantees that DAZN will persist in broadcasting a range of UEFA national team tournaments. This includes the Nations League, encompassing both qualifiers and finals, European qualifiers for the European Championship (Euro), as well as selected international friendlies leading up to Euro 2028.

Significantly, the coverage continues through to and includes Euro 2028, an event slated to be hosted by the UK and Ireland.

Key dates in upcoming tournaments

Specifically included in this extension is qualification for Euro 2028. The qualification process will run from March through November in 2027 with playoffs scheduled for March 2028. The Euro 2028 finals are expected to take place between June 9th and July 9th of that year.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to the next Nations League season starting as soon as September 2026 with finals planned for June of the following year.
However, it's important to note that DAZN’s coverage does not include fixtures involving German, Austrian or Swiss national teams within their respective home markets due to other free-to-air (FTA) broadcasters holding these rights. Instead, these games will be aired on a delayed basis by DAZN.

In Germany domestic live rights are held by public service broadcasters ARD and ZDF while Austrian home team matches are aired by free-to-air channel Servus TV. In Switzerland all matches played by Swiss teams through till end of 2028 will be aired by public service broadcaster SRG SSR.

DAZN's growing portfolio

This extension further bolsters DAZN’s portfolio of soccer rights in the DACH region. The streaming service has already secured rights to UEFA’s top-tier Champions League club competition, as well as top European leagues including Germany's Bundesliga, Spain's LaLiga, Italy's Serie A and France's Ligue 1.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of UEFA revealing the schedule for Euro 2028. This tournament is set to feature nine venues across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales with a total of 24 teams playing in 51 games.

This early extension solidifies DAZN’s position as a leading provider of comprehensive soccer coverage in the DACH region. It ensures that fans will continue to have access to high-quality streams of their favourite national team tournaments for years to come.
