The streaming platform is set to launch in France after joining forces with one of the country’s biggest TV channels

DAZN, the renowned sports OTT streaming platform, has unveiled its latest expansion into France. This venture is made possible through a partnership with Canal+, enabling DAZN to broadcast live Ligue 1 football matches in the country.

This move serves to amplify DAZN's already rich collection of football content that includes coverage of Spain's La Liga, Italy’s Serie A and the UEFA Nations League. Additionally, they recently secured rights to air Saudi Pro League games.

France represents a significant milestone as it becomes DAZN's seventh key European market entry and marks its global footprint across 11 countries.

With this strategic expansion, they aim to add more viewership beyond their current base of 60 million subscribers worldwide.

The exciting development allows French fans of Ligue 1 football direct access via subscription on Canal+ Ligue 1 where they can enjoy top two matches per week throughout the season without needing additional subscriptions.

Customers are offered flexibility in accessing DAZN through app purchases on various platforms including mobiles and Smart TVs among others.

In due time, availability within myCanal service will be realised as well as other local distribution deals which are set for future announcements according to plans laid out by DAZN.

Shay Segev, CEO at DAZN Group stated:

“DAZN is incredibly excited about our launch in France, especially being able to bring Ligue 1 matches via Canal+ directly onto our customers' screens."

Segev envisions this initiative marking just the beginning of a long-term relationship with French sports enthusiasts while aiming towards curating an ultimate sports entertainment platform along with securing additional distribution contracts eventually down the line.

As part of package offerings tied up with Canal+, customers get access not only limited thematically around football but extends into domains like boxing & combat matchups besides other major events from UEFA Women’s Champions League and Belgian Jupiler Pro League among others available on ‘DAZN One’.

To facilitate an easeful transition whilst boosting engagement levels amongst the existing customer base, there will be significant marketing efforts driven by both parties.

The campaign is specifically designed to raise awareness about the products, services, and exclusive offers offered by the company.
