Sport 24, the in-flight and on-ship entertainment service owned by international sports agency IMG, has successfully renewed its broadcast partnership with English soccer’s Premier League. The deal will see Sport 24 continue to air more than 270 Premier League matches live each season until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.
The renewal builds on IMG’s previous three-year deal with the Premier League struck ahead of the 2022-23 season and running through to the end of the 2024-25 campaign. Under that agreement, Sport24 aired five games a week, including weekly previews, reviews, and features. Additionally, it offered an extra platform - Sport 24 Extra - which aired an additional set of games.
Richard Wise, IMG’s senior vice president of content and channels, said:
“Our research shows that 74% of passengers would prefer to watch live sport over other in-flight entertainment, and the Premier League remains one of the most popular sports leagues in the world.
“We’re delighted to extend our live coverage of the league, and passengers now have more ways to enjoy live sport onboard with Sport 24 than ever before, so they never have to miss a moment of the action.”
Expanding portfolio
The agreement adds to Sport 24’s growing portfolio of live soccer rights. This includes broadcasting rights for major tournaments such as FIFA's World Cup in 2026 and UEFA's top-tier Champions League along with second-tier Europa League club competitions. Other notable additions include UEFA Nations League and AFC Asian Cup international teams tournaments as well as recently concluded UEFA Women's Euro tournament in 2025 and FIFA Club World Cup.
Beyond its extensive football coverage, Sport 24 has been diversifying its content since its inception in 2012. It has been broadcasting live action from a variety of other sports genres. This includes the prestigious Formula One series from the world of motor racing and games from the globally popular basketball league, NBA. For American football fans traveling by air, they have exclusive access to NFL games. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy major tournaments while tennis fans are not left out with all four grand slams being aired live. Additionally, several cricket tournaments also find a place in Sport 24's diverse sporting portfolio.
In a move towards enhancing accessibility for passengers onboard flights or cruises who wish to stay updated with their favorite sports events, IMG recently unveiled Sport24's web player. This new feature allows passengers to access the service's content on their personal devices.
Broad reach
Sport 24 is available on a wide range of airlines and cruise ships. It can be accessed on 610 aircraft, including those from Etihad Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Cathay Pacific. Additionally, it is also available on 119 cruise ships from Carnival Group, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises , Norwegian Cruise Line and Fred Olsen.
Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra are produced from IMG’s production HQ at Stockley Park. This ensures high-quality broadcasts for all viewers regardless of their location.
