Thai media and technology giant, Mono Next, has announced a strategic partnership with AI-powered video content provider WSC Sports. The collaboration aims to augment its ongoing coverage of Premier League and the FA Cup matches for the 2025-26 season.
Mono is set to provide comprehensive coverage via its Monomax over-the-top service under a sub-licensing agreement with Jasmine International. The Thai telecoms company holds the rights for these two English competitions in Thailand.
The new alliance will enable Mono to leverage WSC Sports’ platform, delivering real-time highlights, personalized short-form content, and dynamic visuals across its social media channels and on Monomax. This innovative approach is expected to meet the rising demand for "snackable content," player-specific storytelling, team-centric narratives, and an overall more engaging viewing experience for fans.
Pioneering integration with Google web stories
In a regional first, Mono plans to launch WSC’s integration with Google Web Stories. This feature will allow it to transform key moments into immersive vertical video stories that appear directly in Google Search results - an exciting development that promises a richer user experience.
Mono chief executive, Navamin Prasophnet, said:
“This is a big move for us as we grow our sports offering. With WSC Sports, we’re not just showing the English Premier League, we’re changing how fans follow it. Google Web Stories lets us meet fans right where they’re searching and bring them straight into our world for more content, more updates, and more ways to connect.”
Jasmine International secures rights deal
Jasmine International secured rights for both the Premier League and FA Cup last year through an initial three-year deal covering the 2025-28 cycle. This arrangement succeeded previous rightsholder True Corp.
The deal includes replays and highlights rights giving Jasmine exclusive live broadcast rights of these two competitions in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia for at least three seasons starting from 2025-26 season. Moreover, Jasmine exercised an option last December extending their agreement through the 2030-31 season. Initially, the three-year rights deal was worth $233 million, but with the extension, Jasmine International will now pay $560 million for the full six years.
This partnership between Mono and WSC Sports marks a significant step forward in sports broadcasting in Thailand. By integrating AI-powered video content and Google Web Stories into their coverage, Mono is set to deliver a more personalized and immersive viewing experience for Premier League fans. The future of sports broadcasting looks bright as technology continues to revolutionize how we consume sports content.
