U.S. Soccer join forces with Sportfive for selling international broadcasting rights

Sportfive will sell broadcasting rights package of all Men's and Women's matches

The U.S. Soccer Federation has begun a process aimed at selling broadcast rights for U.S. Soccer around the world. The U.S. Soccer Federation has hired the marketing agency Sportfive to facilitate the deal all around the world for the acquisition of linear and digital rights.

The United States Soccer Federation is targeting to sell its rights to media for a package of matches both men's and women's matches plus the US Open Cup. The deal is also going to include the four-team SheBelieves Cup for the Women's National Team.

The U.S. Soccer Chief Commercial officer said on the deal: 

“We’re thrilled to partner with Sportsfive as we continue to increase the accessibility and reach for fans everywhere to support our U.S. National Teams,”

“In addition, the opportunity to provide more access for fans globally to enjoy the U.S. Open Cup, SheBelieves Cup, and other U.S. Soccer properties is an important step forward in our continued media evolution.”

On the other hand, Neil Glat, Co-president, of Americas at Sportfive also reflected on the deal and said:

“U.S. Soccer is driving the growth of the sport across the country and is successfully positioning the United States at the forefront of international soccer,”

“Soccer fans have an incredible demand for the sport and want to watch the best soccer competitions, wherever they are played.  We are thrilled to be helping U.S. Soccer and its teams and competitions get additional exposure across international markets and provide even greater access to the very best of American soccer.” 

The U.S. Soccer and Sportfive have been associated for years

U.S. Soccer and Sportsfive aren't joining forces for the first time. Although their current deal is for a multi-year period, the two have been associated since 2020.

As part of their marketing strategy for the international broadcasting rights of the USL Championship and USL League, Sportfive was hired by the federation in 2020.

With regards to Sportsfive, it is well known that they are experienced in handling these kinds of tasks and have a vast portfolio. 

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, FC Augsburg, Flamengo, New York City FC, Real Madrid TV, and a number of other organisations are currently associated with them for the provision of services such as Brand Consulting, Commercial Sales, Digital, Experiential & Production, and Media.
