Iris Sport Media, a leading sports marketing agency, has announced a multi-year global representation deal with the 20-team Dutch soccer's second-tier Eerste Divisie. The partnership is set to revolutionize the league's international media exploitation, positioning, and business development.
The agreement was facilitated by Iris Sport Media and involves Infront Bettor, the betting division of an international sports marketing agency. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the global betting streaming industry as it brings together two major players in sports marketing and betting.
Collaborative efforts for growth
In addition to this groundbreaking deal with Infront Bettor, Iris has also signed agreements with two Dutch companies – Southfields and Sports Exposure. These partnerships are aimed at further enhancing the growth and development of Eerste Divisie. Southfields will be responsible for production and technical services while Sports Exposure will assist with sponsorship revenues and innovative advertising strategies. These collaborations are expected to significantly boost the league's visibility on both local and international platforms.
Marc Boele, chief executive of Eerste Divisie expressed his enthusiasm about these partnerships without providing specific details. Floris Weisz, Iris Sport’s managing partner also added his thoughts but they were not provided in this context.
Marc Boele, Chief Executive of the Eerste Divisie, said:
“Partnering with three top-tier companies, who each have local presence, will strengthen our organization and capabilities and expedite our growth, which will allow us to innovate, enhance fan engagement, and improve the overall quality of the league.”
Floris Weisz, Iris Sport Managing Partner, said:
“We are delighted that we have been able to advise the Dutch First Division on their first stand-alone international deal with Infront Bettor. Together with Southfields and Sports Exposure we can advance the commercial proposition and help to solidify the growth of the league.”
ESPN continues domestic coverage
On a domestic level, ESPN continues its coverage of Eerste Divisie matches until 2029-30 season end due to an extension deal signed earlier this year in February. This ensures that fans within Netherlands can continue enjoying their favorite teams' performances uninterrupted for years to come.
The 2024-25 Dutch Eerste Divisie kicked off on August 9th with Helmond Sport currently leading at top of league table which adds more excitement among fans watching domestically and internationally. These partnerships and deals are set to significantly enhance Dutch Eerste Divisie's global presence while providing more opportunities for sports betting fans. As we look forward to more exciting developments in this space, it is clear that Dutch soccer is making significant strides in expanding its reach and influence globally.
