Manchester City forward, Oscar Bobb, is likely to leave the club in January as Borussia Dortmund and Fulham compete for the 22-year-old Norwegian international. This comes after a series of injury setbacks since the start of the 2025-26 season.
Bobb has struggled to make an impact under Pep Guardiola this term. Despite his potential, recurring injuries have hampered his progress. As a result, he will be allowed to leave his boyhood club during the ongoing transfer window.
Manchester City has already bolstered their attacking options with Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth as they aim to close a seven-point gap with Premier League leaders Arsenal. However, recent performances have raised questions about their title credentials.
Need for change
Guardiola's team has only managed two wins in their last seven games across all competitions. Their inability to secure victories since December 27th's hard-fought win against Nottingham Forest indicates a desperate need for change.
The recent 3-1 defeat by Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in UEFA Champions League fixture further highlights this issue. In response, City’s leadership group refunded matchday ticket costs for travelling fans who witnessed the disappointing performance in Arctic Circle. City hopes that its January transfers will turn things around during the second half of season. Marc Guehi is set to make his debut after completing a £20 million transfer from Crystal Palace on Monday.
Despite missing several key players due to injuries or other reasons, there is enough firepower within available squad members like Semenyo - expected back into starting XI -to beat Wolves on Saturday. However, no major additions are expected at Etihad Stadium during final weeks of window period except possibly Feyenoord teenager Givairo Read as a right-back option.
Focus on departures
The focus now shifts to departures from senior ranks. Fulham has emerged as a strong contender to sign Oscar Bobb permanently, according to Mail Sport’s Jack Gaughan. Marco Silva, Fulham's manager, is leading the club's interest in the Norwegian international.
Borussia Dortmund also remains interested in Bobb but are hesitant due to financial implications of potential deal. They have an option of taking him on loan this month if they commit to a permanent purchase at season end.
Despite scoring 10 goals against Exeter City in FA Cup, Manchester City has struggled with goal-scoring when it matters most this month. Guardiola will be eager for his team to return their imperious form starting with Wolves on Saturday.
