Despite the incident, Rooney still appeared as a pundit on BBC Sport for the FA Cup quarter-final just hours later

England football legend, Wayne Rooney, was recently spotted in a rather compromising situation on the streets of London. The former Manchester United and Everton star found himself caught short and decided to relieve himself against a wall, much to the surprise of passersby.

Rooney's need for relief came during a night out with friends in the trendy areas of Marylebone and Mayfair. This isn't the first time that Rooney has been photographed urinating publicly; he was previously seen doing so back in 2013 in Manchester. Photographers have also captured him on several other occasions relieving himself by bushes.

This time around, however, Rooney chose to go while within view of passersby during his night out in London.

Night out at exclusive venues

The group spent their evening at some exclusive venues around town. They started off at Nest rooftop bar located in Marylebone which offers stunning views of the capital city. Following this, they proceeded to Novikov restaurant located in Mayfair for dinner and more drinks before finally leaving around 2 am.

Depending on the exact nature of such behaviour, it could potentially be covered by criminal offences like public order offences under UK law. Urinating publicly could be considered a crime under either the Public Order Act 1986 or Environmental Protection Act 1990.

In certain areas within London like Westminster, individuals can face fines up to £150 for such actions.

Post-incident appearance as BBC Pundit

Interestingly enough, despite this incident occurring just hours prior, Rooney appeared as a pundit on BBC Sport for FA Cup quarter-final between Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest later that evening.

While celebrities often find themselves under increased scrutiny due to their public status - it is essential that they, like all citizens, adhere to public decency laws. This incident serves as a reminder that even the most celebrated individuals are not exempt from these rules and regulations.
