Clubs interested know a £65m release fee can be activated in early January

The future of Bournemouth attacker, Antoine Semenyo, is set to become one of the most intriguing narratives of the forthcoming transfer window. The 25-year-old Ghanaian international has attracted major interest from at least three Premier League clubs - Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham. Even Manchester United have shown admiration for the player.

Interested parties are aware that a release fee of £65m can be activated for around the first two weeks of January. It seems inevitable that Semenyo will leave next month or in the summer window when his release fee is understood to reduce.

A replacement for Salah?

Liverpool's interest in Semenyo has been amplified due to uncertainty over Mohamed Salah's future at Anfield. If Salah were to leave Merseyside in the coming weeks or months, then Semenyo could fit as his replacement.

However, it should be noted that Liverpool's interest pre-existed current issues surrounding Salah. Given that Salah is 33 years old and nearing retirement age, Liverpool needs a plan for when he leaves. Signing Semenyo in the same window as Salah’s departure would ease financial strain on Liverpool.

Another addition to City’s attacking arsenal?

Despite having an array of attacking talent like Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and others who can operate in areas where Semenyo excels, there doesn't appear an immediate necessity for City to press forward with their interest in him.

However, recent indications suggest that City's interest is solidifying as January approaches. Joining a club currently competing with Arsenal for Premier League title would provide a clear sporting incentive for Semenyo over inconsistent-performing Liverpool.

Tottenham can offer lucrative offer

From a sporting perspective moving to either Liverpool or City would seem more attractive than Spurs given their current form and squad quality. However, Tottenham's financial power is growing under the new ownership structure led by Joe Lewis' children.

Sources suggest that Tottenham could offer Semenyo the most personally lucrative remuneration package and funding his release clause will not be an obstacle. But if Semenyo prioritises sporting achievements over financial gain, then Liverpool or City would likely provide him with a better chance of fulfilling his ambitions.

The future of Antoine Semenyo remains uncertain as we approach the January transfer window. With interest from top Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham, it will be intriguing to see where he lands. The decision will likely hinge on whether he prioritises personal financial gain or sporting achievement.
