Aston Villa, the renowned Premier League club, has confirmed a £10.5 million deal to sign 19-year-old Brazilian winger Alysson from Gremio. This strategic move is set to bolster their attacking line-up and potentially enhance their performance in the league.
The young talent is scheduled to undergo a medical examination before officially joining the team in January. Initially, the deal is worth £8.7 million with an additional £1.8 million tied up in performance-related add-ons.
Gremio, which secured ninth place in Brazil's Serie A this season, has also agreed on a 10% sell-on clause for Alysson as part of the agreement.
Promising addition
Alysson - a left-footed right winger - brings with him an impressive track record despite his young age. He scored two goals and provided five assists across 43 appearances this year alone. His addition will undoubtedly enrich Villa's attack line that already boasts names like Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, Evann Guessand, Jadon Sancho, Donyell Malen and Harvey Elliott.
The Midlands club recently triumphed over league leaders Arsenal on Saturday moving them three points behind Arsenal in the Premier League table and elevating them to third position behind second-placed Manchester City. Under Unai Emery's leadership, Aston Villa has been enjoying a winning streak with seven consecutive victories across all competitions so far.
This new signing signals Aston Villa’s commitment towards nurturing young talent while strengthening its squad for future challenges. As sports fans eagerly anticipate how this new addition will impact team dynamics and performance on-field; sports betting enthusiasts are likely keeping an eye out for potential shifts in odds following this significant acquisition.
