UFC partners with Cosm to provide fans with a near-actual experience of its premium PPV events

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has partnered with immersive tech specialist Cosm to allow fans to experience their premium PPV events and what it really feels like to witness the octagon.

The arrangement, with the help of technology, would allow fans to soak in the near-immersive experience of the actual venue of the Octagon, in what is perceived to be a great step for the Endeavour-owned company.

The idea is to recreate the actual stadium with the help of 8k shared reality and with the use of LED domes while replicating the atmosphere in a designated facility. Therefore, the viewers will not be required to wear headsets to enjoy the experience. Other elements like immersive displays, food, and beverages will also be in supply as if to recreate the actual stadium experience. That being said, merchandise stands will also add to the value.

This will be Cosm’s second such partnership with NBA already having reached an agreement with the tech giant. Cosm also built its first such venue (SoFi stadium) in Los Angeles and has revealed a second location in Dallas with further expansion planned. So, it is likely to be the way forward, when it comes to providing an immersive experience for the viewers.

The reason behind this concept is the vision to bridge the gap between the physical and virtual world and to help fans, who are restricted by geography, capacity, and cost issues gain a near-complete experience of the event.

Craig Borsari, the chief content officer and executive producer at UFC has said,

“At UFC, we’re always looking for new ways to create deeper engagement with our fans, and Cosm has presented this great opportunity to do that with our biggest events using this unique and immersive viewing technology,

“It’s going to elevate the UFC live experience for our fans who watch beyond the arena.”

Jeb Terry, the chief executive and president at Cosm also confirmed that this arrangement will be the first of its kind.

“We are thrilled to partner with them to give fans a first-of-its-kind immersive experience for UFC fights around the world. This kind of shared viewing experience does not exist anywhere else on the planet, and we are proud to introduce this new era of live entertainment in collaboration with UFC.

“True to form, UFC is always pushing boundaries and will be an anchor of our live sports programming, serving as our second major league relationship, with many more to come soon.”

Cosm will also be hoping to rope in more partners in the future to keep their venues busy at any given time.
