Talksport unveils star-studded World Cup squad

Talksport will also offer live commentaries on YouTube and TikTok, along with releasing several special podcasts during this period

Talksport, the renowned sports radio station, has recently unveiled its on-screen lineup for the upcoming summer's World Cup. The lineup features a mix of football legends, current Premier League managers, and even an award-winning rapper.

The group will be featured across various platforms including YouTube and TikTok channels as well as Talksport's FAST channel and radio channels. Notably, for the first four weeks of the competition, Jim White and Simon Jordan will broadcast 'White & Jordan' live from 1 - 4pm from the 50th Floor of the World Trade Center New York. Following this slot will be Andy Goldstein, Darren Bent along with the Talksport Drive team.

In addition to these broadcasts, all live commentaries by Talksport will also be available on its YouTube and TikTok channels and several special podcasts are scheduled to release throughout this period.

Liam Fisher, head of Talksport, said:

Among these podcasts is 'World Cup Daily', which takes listeners behind-the-scenes across various US locations. Another podcast titled 'How To Win The World Cup' featuring Matt Forde, Alex Brooker, Emmanuel Petit and Brad Friedel is set to release twice a week. Lastly,'Talksport Hit' promises daily 15-minute round-ups of all action taking place during this exciting time.

From football legends to rappers

The lineup includes two current Premier League managers - Everton’s David Moyes and Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler; recently retired England defender Kyle Walker; World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit; former Netherlands striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who is also Gareth Southgate’s assistant coach with England; US goalkeeping legend Brad Friedel; world-renowned officiating expert Christina Unkel; plus award-winning rapper & huge football fan AJ Tracey.

For the England games, commentary will be provided by Adrian Durham, England legend Stuart Pearce, and lead commentator Jim Proudfoot. Faye Carruthers will serve as the embedded England correspondent. Scotland’s journey will be fully chronicled by Natalie Sawyer, former Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee, and Joe Shennan with support from Scotland correspondent Shebahn Aherne. Expert punditry will come from Martin Keown, Tony Cascarino and Tash Dowie.

Talksport has also arranged for a number of reporters across the US, Mexico and Canada to cover all angles of this global event. Alex Crook will be in Dallas before heading to New York; Ben Jacobs is set to stay with the US team; while Andy Brassell is tasked with following the final World Cup chapters of football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Fan reporters Angelina Kelly and Harry Durham are assigned to fan zones to capture raw emotions and atmosphere during this much-anticipated tournament. Talksport's comprehensive coverage promises an engaging experience for sports fans worldwide during this summer's World Cup.
