Roku UK is set to revolutionize the way football fans watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. The streaming platform has launched a centralized hub, known as the Football Zone, that will provide comprehensive coverage of all matches. In addition, Roku has also announced the introduction of its TV Smart Projectors in the UK market.
The Football Zone is designed to make it easier for viewers to find where they can watch live matches. With broadcast rights held by BBC, ITV and STV, Roku's new feature brings together all these channels in one place on its devices.
This innovative hub not only shows where matches are available across supported apps but also provides match highlights and related content such as football-related films, series and documentaries. Moreover, it includes a dynamic scoreboard covering all matches along with a leaderboard tracking top goal scorers throughout the tournament.
Accessibility of The Football Zone
The Football Zone will be accessible on all existing and new Roku players including Roku TV models and newly launched Roku Smart Projectors in the UK ahead of the tournament.
Viewers can access this feature directly from their home screen menu or through featured placements on their home screen within "What to Watch" section. In addition to enhancing sports viewing experience with its centralized hub, Roku has also announced its entry into big-screen entertainment with its TV Smart Projectors launch in partnership with Aurzen and Sharp.
These projectors combine advanced projection technology with access to streaming content services including Video On Demand (VOD), live television broadcasts as well as free entertainment content providing an immersive viewing experience like never before.
Availability & pricing details
The Aurzen-branded projector will be available from June via Amazon while Sharp's version will hit Asda shelves in June followed by Tesco in July. Pricing details for these projectors are yet to be announced.
