Scripps Sports have replaced AT&T SportsNet who held rights previously

The Golden Knights have announced that all of their non-national exclusive games will now be broadcast by Scripps Sports.

AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain, owned by Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), previously held broadcasting rights of Golden Knights games free to residents of Nevada and surrounding states within the league's broadcast territory.

However, Warner Bros Discovery's decision to shut down AT&T SportsNet operations in the US led to the onboarding of a new broadcaster.

Golden Knights have signed a multi-year distribution deal with Scripps Sports for cable, satellite, and over-the-air distribution. Matches of the Golden Knights will be broadcast on KMCC-TV, available on ION and Scripps' national entertainment network.

Kerry Bubolz, CEO of the Golden Knights, announced the deal by saying:

"This deal is a significant win for our fans because they will be able to see our games on television and for free, if they wish,”

“That was our goal in finding a new TV partner. We wanted to serve our fanbase in the best way possible."

In his remarks on this historic association, Scripps Sports president, Brian Lawlor said:

"We have been impressed by the Golden Knights' commitment to winning and their desire to connect and engage with fans in Vegas and outer markets, as well,"

"This is going to be a wonderful partnership, and it's the fans who will benefit most. We launched Scripps Sports with the belief that we could help teams reach more fans through our stations, which do not depend on subscriptions and added fees for the consumer."

With this partnership, the Golden Knights will become the first NHL team associated with Scripps Sports, although they have been associated with the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) recently as well.

As part of their new partnership with the Golden Knights, Scripps Sports will rebrand their KMCC Channel as an independent station before the start of the NHL season in 2023/24.
