Premier League Studios is slated to commence operations in 2026, following the conclusion of joint venture with IMG

The Premier League's in-house international production arm, known as Premier League Studios, has announced its future home. The studio will be located at the iconic Olympia London, marking a significant shift in the league's broadcasting operations.

Premier League Studios is set to launch in 2026 when the current joint venture with IMG, Premier League Productions, concludes. Currently based at IMG Studios in Stockley Park, Premier League Productions delivers matches and other content to over 180 broadcasters worldwide.

The transition to an independent production house underlines the league's commitment towards enhancing its global broadcasting capabilities. It also signifies a strategic move towards greater control over content creation and distribution.

New home for broadcasting operations

Premier League Studios will occupy 73,000 sq ft of space within One Olympia office building situated in Kensington, London. This move comes as part of a long-term plan with a lease agreement spanning two decades. One Olympia is part of the larger regeneration project undertaken by Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International for Olympia London. Once completed, it will offer more than half a million square feet of office space along with numerous other facilities designed to create an integrated community hub.

The regeneration project of Olympia London includes a multitude of impressive features. Among them is a theatre with the capacity to seat 1,575 people and a music venue that can accommodate up to 4,000 attendees. Additionally, two new hotels are being constructed to cater to visitors' accommodation needs. The project also includes an international convention centre for hosting various events and conferences. To further enhance the experience, over thirty restaurants and bars will be established alongside other amenities, providing diverse dining options and leisure activities.

These features aim not only to provide an ideal working environment but also contribute towards creating vibrant surroundings that foster creativity and innovation.

Leadership changes preceding the move

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Andy Beale’s appointment as Director of Technology for the Premier League. Beale previously served as BT Sport’s chief engineer and head of innovation – roles that equipped him with valuable experience and insights into the broadcasting industry.

Paul Molnar, chief media officer at the Premier League, said:

“We are excited to be moving to Olympia in 2026 as part of our plans to establish a new in-house media operations business. Olympia will provide Premier League Studios with state-of-the-art offices and facilities that will help us create a best-in-class content service for our broadcast partners and millions of passionate fans around the world.”

The Premier League's move to Olympia London, coupled with Beale’s appointment, signals a new era for the league's broadcasting operations. As it prepares to transition from IMG Studios to its own in-house production arm, fans worldwide can anticipate an enhanced viewing experience come 2026.
