According to sources, Juventus are currently the front-runners in the race to secure Ugarte's signature

Manchester United are reportedly open to selling midfielder Manuel Ugarte in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 24-year-old player, who has struggled to establish himself under the current system, is pushing for a move away from Old Trafford.

Ugarte joined Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2024 on a deal running until 2029. However, his tenure at Old Trafford has been marked by frustration and limited appearances. He has made just 21 Premier League matches and failed to secure a regular starting role due to his perceived mismatch with the team's preferred 4-2-3-1 setup.

Sources have revealed that Ugarte’s desire for a change of scenery is well known within the club. Although he explored the possibility of a loan exit during the January window, this move was blocked by Manchester United. However, circumstances have since evolved and it appears increasingly likely that he will make a permanent departure.

Juventus leading race for Ugarte

Juventus are currently leading contenders in securing Ugarte's signature according to sources close to CaughtOffside. Their interest dates back to his time at Sporting CP where Juventus' sporting director Marco Ottolini personally tracked him during international fixtures.

A move to Serie A seems highly probable given these developments although Juventus’ ability to complete this deal hinges on their Champions League qualification status.

Despite an estimated market value closer €30 million, Manchester United values Ugarte at around €40 million. His salary of approximately €4 million net per year isn't expected pose any significant hurdles for interested clubs.

Other clubs eyeing up Ugarte

Galatasaray has also re-entered the race for signing up Manuel Ugarte and are willing offer him regular playing time as part of their ambitious Champions League project - something he sorely missed at Manchester United. This could potentially be a decisive factor in Ugarte's final decision.

Meanwhile, Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also closely monitoring the situation. Ajax and Sunderland have been linked to Ugarte as well, but these options are currently considered less likely.

With multiple clubs showing interest and Manchester United open to negotiations, Manuel Ugarte is emerging as one of the key midfield names to watch out for in what promises to be an eventful summer transfer window. His potential move will undoubtedly have significant implications for both his career trajectory and the dynamics of his prospective new team.
