Live action involving Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig is available to British football fans
The 2021/22 season is sure to be as thrilling as ever as Germany's elite powerhouses trade blows in pursuit of the much coveted Bundesliga title. The supremely dominant Bayern Munich are searching for a tenth consecutive crown and have drafted in Julian Nagelsmann, previously of rivals RB Leipzig, to help them achieve it. The 34-year-old replaces Hansi Flick who ended his successful spell at the club to take over as coach of the German national team. They aren't the only ones mixing things up with seven of last season's top eight teams starting next season with a new manager. Marco Rose left his role at Borussia Mönchengladbach to take over at Borussia Dortmund and will hope he can put an end to Bayern's supremacy. American Jesse Marsch left Red Bull Salzburg to take over at sister club RB Leipzig as they go again in search of a first top flight title. Nobody quite knows what to expect from the new managers and new players but many predict a hard fought title race and a captivating season in the Bundesliga.
Nagelsmann is an exciting young coach who did a fantastic job at Leipzig. The squad at Bayern is still very much in tact with David Alaba the only real outgoing of note. The Austrian moved to Real Madrid at the end of last season but was quickly replaced by Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig - regarded as one of the best centre backs in the world by many. Robert Lewandowski scored 41 goals in 29 Bundesliga games last season and the 32-year-old shows no signs of slowing down. Dortmund have a vibrant, young coach of their own in Marco Rose, and despite the never ending transfer saga surrounding the unstoppable Erling Haaland, it seems the Norwegian will be staying at the Signal Iduna Park for another year at least. Dortmund did lose Jadon Sancho to Manchester United but have already begun to reinvest, bringing in Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven for €30m. Malen hugely impressed during Euro 2020 and the club will rightly feel that price was a steal. Further incomings could be on the horizon. Leipzig fans will be concerned by losing two key centre backs in Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate who has moved to Liverpool, but will be pleased to see a permanent deal done with Manchester City for Angeliño and buoyed by the signing of André Silva from Frankfurt for €23m.
There are a host of other very capable sides in the German Bundesliga who will be fighting hard for European places and could even cause a shock at the top end of the table but a three horse race between Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig is most likely. With tonnes of talent in the squads and some of the most exciting and innovative coaches in the world, look no further than the Bundesliga for exciting and dynamic football this season.

"Donyell Malen still has to get used to a few things, but you can see his extraordinary ability. He can add things physically, we're working on that. We have Donny on our radar for Saturday." pic.twitter.com/bAD6okMzXl
