Fulham Football Club is reportedly in talks to sign winger Oscar Bobb from fellow Premier League team Manchester City. The 22-year-old player has seen his position at the club become less secure following the recent £62.5m signing of forward Antoine Semenyo.
Bobb, who has been a part of Manchester City's line-up for some time now, has fallen down the pecking order under coach Pep Guardiola. This shift comes after the club signed forward Antoine Semenyo earlier this month for a whopping £62.5m.
While there have been discussions between Fulham and Manchester City regarding Bobb's transfer, sources have confirmed that no formal offer has yet been made by Fulham.
Interest from other clubs and performance review
Bobb’s talent hasn't gone unnoticed outside England either; he has also attracted interest from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. Despite not scoring in any of his 15 appearances for Man City this season, his potential remains evident.
His last game was on December 17 against Brentford in the Carabao Cup where he had to leave within 20 minutes due to an injury. When asked about Bobb's condition, Guardiola stated: "He says he is not fit, so he is not fit."
The arrival of Semenyo adds further competition on the right wing where Brazilian Savinho also plays. This could mean that Bobb may be allowed to leave this month either on loan or as a permanent transfer. Fulham are currently enjoying good form under Marco Silva with only one loss out of their past seven games which places them at 11th position in Premier League table and into fourth round of FA Cup.
International achievements and potential reunion
Bobb has represented Norway six times this year, contributing to their qualification for the upcoming World Cup. If the transfer goes through, he would join fellow Norwegian Sander Berge at Craven Cottage.
However, it's worth noting that Bobb missed almost all of last season due to a leg fracture during training in August 2024.
The potential transfer of Oscar Bobb from Manchester City to Fulham could be a significant move for both clubs. While Man City may lose a talented player, they have ample replacements. On the other hand, Fulham could gain an international player with proven potential despite his recent injury setbacks.
