CazéTV holds exclusive rights to the UEFA Europa League and Conference League in Brazil

Renowned sports Twitch streamer, Casimiro, has decided to shift his CazéTV live event streams exclusively to YouTube due to recurring copyright issues on Twitch. This move is a significant win for YouTube and a potential loss for the Amazon-owned streaming platform.

Casimiro's decision comes in the wake of his third ban from Twitch in December 2024. The ban was imposed after he streamed the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final on CazéTV, despite having an exclusive partnership with FIFA that granted him livestreaming rights for events such as the World Cup.

Exclusive partnerships and rights

Apart from FIFA, Casimiro also holds exclusive streaming rights in Brazil for several other high-profile soccer tournaments. These include UEFA Europa League and Conference League matches as well as Brazil’s Campeonato Brasileiro and Campeonato Paulista.

Interestingly, it was YouTube that acquired these rights and hired Casimiro to announce them - a move that further solidifies their relationship with this popular content creator.

Despite this shift, fans can still expect content from his popular 'Casimito' Twitch channel which boasts nearly 4 million followers. This channel features Casimiro in a more traditional streaming format and is expected to continue its operations unaffected by this change.

Win-Win situation for YouTube

The transition marks a significant victory for YouTube who had partnered directly with Casimiro early in his career. His streams of Campeonato Paulista have been known to generate millions of views; just last weekend's stream of the cup final drew over 7 million viewers alone!

In Brazil - a country teeming with passionate soccer fans - Casimiro is nothing short of a star. He brings an unparalleled blend of humor and passion into each game he covers, making him a unique figure in the world of sports live streaming. Casimiro's move to YouTube signifies a new path forward for the industry, particularly at a time when concerns about sports viewership among young people are on the rise. By striking partnerships and offering alternative viewing options, he is paving the way for an evolution in how sports content is consumed by younger audiences.

However, this evolution will now unfold on YouTube rather than Twitch. The latter failed to ensure that Casimiro's broadcast rights were respected by its copyright trackers - an oversight that has led to this significant shift in platform preference.
