Borussia Dortmund (BVB), one of the heavyweights of German soccer's top-tier Bundesliga, has announced a multi-faceted partnership with free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service, Pluto TV. BVB channel on Pluto TV and also includes sleeve sponsorship for both men's and women's teams.
The deal entails that Pluto TV will curate a FAST channel dedicated to BVB. This channel will be accessible for free across all global markets where Pluto operates, including Germany, the US, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Latin America among others.
In addition to this exciting development for fans worldwide who can now access full match replays of current and historic BVB matches at no cost; there are other elements to this partnership as well.
Sleeve Sponsorship
Pluto TV is set to become a partial sleeve sponsor for the men’s team covering all cup competitions such as UEFA Champions League - Europe’s premier club competition - along with domestic DFB-Pokal and FIFA Club World Cup matches scheduled in mid-2025.
For the women’s team however; Pluto TV takes up complete sleeve sponsorship across all competitions including their domestic league games.

The agreement also extends branding rights to Pluto TV across all Bundesliga home games for BVB as well as their eFootball esports side. This means that fans attending these events or watching them online would see prominent placement of the streaming service's logo.

This tie-up is significant not only because it brings together two major entities from different industries but also due to its potential impact on both parties' visibility and reach. For Borussia Dortmund which already boasts top-tier commercial partners like Puma (kit supplier), Evonik and 1&1 (front-of-shirt sponsors for the men’s team across different competitions), this partnership further enhances their commercial portfolio.
Moreover, in late August, Dortmund added blockchain cryptocurrency firm BlockDAG (BDAG) as their latest premium partner in a record three-year deal. On the other hand, Pluto TV's association with BVB comes on the heels of its recent partnership with FIFA to carry the FIFA+ over-the-top service. This tie-up with Borussia Dortmund is expected to boost Pluto TV's visibility among soccer fans globally and solidify its position as a leading player in sports streaming.
