League tables are starting to take shape as the first quarter of the season nears its end

That moment in the season has arrived when a good start can be considered something more, when a rough patch can be seen as a symptom of a greater problem, and when a rich vein of striking form can be a sign of things to come. Fans across the world will start to feel confident about heading to a crypto betting site and taking a punt on some popular markets.

The outright top scorer in the top flight in each country is often a popular choice and now is as good a time as any to be contemplating a move in this direction.

The league tables across the top 5 divisions in Europe are starting to take shape, as are the Golden Boot rankings in each competition.

Here are the players currently outscoring their peers in the biggest leagues in Europe.

Premier League - Erling Haaland

Many of the game's pundits and experts are running out of superlatives with which to describe the Norwegian powerhouse Erling Haaland.

With 10 goals in 8 Premier League games, he has started this season as he does every other, in blistering goalscoring form.

An average of 1.25 goals per 90 and a goal every 72 minutes has helped propel his team up to second in the table, one point behind rivals Liverpool.

Haaland won the Golden Boot during his first two Premier League seasons with City and looks set to make it three in a row. He's shattered record after record, helped City finally capture the UEFA Champions League and continue their dominance of the Premier League.

The Norwegian continues to shine in both domestic and continental competition. His brace against Sparta Prague in midweek made it 44 goals in the UEFA Champions League, one of which was an incredible improvised finish.

It will take something special for any other striker in the Premier League to come close to Haaland this season.

Serie A - Mateo Retegui

Mateo Retegui of Atalanta has 8 goals and 2 assists in 8 games. The Argentine-born, Italy international boasts an average of 1.32 goals per 90 and scores a goal every 68 minutes he plays.

Since arriving from Genoa in the summer, Retegui has impressed and overachieved. Striking up a partnership with the extremely impressive Ademola Lookman up top as part of Gian Piero Gasperini's 3-4-1-2 formation, Retegui has started the season on fire.

With the season taking shape, Retegui will likely be in and amongst the Golden Boot conversation come the end of this Serie A season.

Bundesliga - Omar Marmoush

Arguably the biggest surprise inclusion on this list is Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush. He has emerged as the shock leader of the Golden Boot standings in the Bundesliga, scoring 9 goals and even providing 4 assists in just 7 games.

This phenomenal return puts him just ahead of Bayern Munich and England marksman Harry Kane, who has scored 8 and provided 4 assists himself.

Marmoush is scoring every 66 minutes he plays, for an unfancied side in Eintracht.

He's scored 21 goals from 36 league games in total since joining Frankfurt. Operating off the left, as he also does for Egypt, but slightly further forward, Marmoush has proven himself to be a real thorn in the side of full-backs this season.

La Liga - Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski looked like he was done after a disappointing season last time out, but like many of his Barcelona counterparts, the arrival of Hansi Flick has galvanised the Pole to no end.

He's scored a whopping 12 goals and chipped in with 2 assists from just 10 games. That goal tally is double the nearest contender, Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe who has managed 6 goals.

His reunion with Hansi Flick, under whom he performed splendidly at Bayern, has turned things to a staggering degree for "Lewy" and for Barcelona as a whole, with the Catalans now looking likely to challenge for the La Liga title and the UCL until the very end.

After just 10 games played, Lewandowski already looks to be an absolute shoo-in for the La Liga Golden Boot, which is truly remarkable.

Ligue 1 - Bradley Barcola

Luis Enrique has helped develop a new breed of young and hungry PSG players, most notably of all being Bradley Barcola.

With 7 goals and 1 assist from 8 games, and a 1.15 goals per 90 average, Barcola is on fire.

Playing off the left of a front three, PSG fans might think they have brought through the new Mbappe. Only time will tell but he has started this season as he ended the last.
