One Championship is Seven Network’s first assignment in combat sports

The Iconic Australian network, Seven Network has grabbed the exclusive rights for the One Championship broadcasting in Australia. The Network has been Australia's most-watched network for years and it will be the first time they are entering the combat sports arena.

Seven networks have become the latest addition to one championship's elite portfolio of media rights, which includes the likes of Prime Video in the USA, beIN Media Group in the Middle East and other major names from the industry around the world.

The President of One Championship said following this historic deal, "We’re incredibly excited to finally bring ONE to a major Australian network and honored to do it by partnering with Seven, the country’s number one broadcast network".

"This is yet another historic milestone in ONE’s journey and we can’t wait to engage with our growing fan base in Australia and give them the free-to-air access to our martial arts events that they’ve been waiting for.”

Seven Network's Chief Digital Officer, Gereurd Roberts also reflected on the deal and said,  “We are thrilled to bring ONE Championship to 7plus, live and free, where it will reach over 13.5 million users".

"The incredible growth of mixed martial arts globally and the soaring growth of ONE in Asia demonstrates the demand from viewers to watch world-class sports content, and points to the strong engagement we expect to see on 7plus.

“With premium sport continuing to drive audiences on 7plus, our exclusive partnership with ONE will deliver blockbuster live events to build on this momentum and further consolidate 7plus’ position as the go-to destination for sports fans in Australia.”

7plus will also have an archive of old One Championship events

The Seven Network has always been regarded as the ultimate destination for cricket since the 1980s, but in recent years, it has been trying to expand its scope and add more dimensions. With the latest deal with One Championship, they will continue to expand their portfolio, which in turn will enable them to beat out their competitors such as Fox Sports.

One Championship will have both "ONE Fight Night" and "ONE Friday Fights" live on the Seven network. In addition to the live broadcasting, Seven Plus will be providing a complete library of highlights from One Championship's past events on their video channel.
