Active Sports FC, a community club in South London, provides a lifeline to young men facing daily threats like knife crime and social exclusion

North One, in collaboration with production partner Lillebus, has recently released a trailer for their forthcoming sports documentary titled "All In the Game". This 90-minute film is an inspirational feature that follows the fortunes of Active Sports FC, a unique grassroots football team based in South London.

Active Sports FC is more than just a community club; it serves as a lifeline to young men living in an environment where opportunities are scarce and threats such as knife crime, gang culture and social exclusion are daily realities. The film showcases how this football club transforms lives by providing structure, self-worth and a sense of belonging.

"All In the Game" includes stories of former Brentford academy hopeful Devonte and CJ who are battling against odds to go pro after years of injury. It also features Abdul who spent his boyhood at Fulham and is now striving to fight his way back to the top.

Executive producer, John Quinn, said:

“What we uncovered at Active was a story far bigger than sport. This is a film about resilience, identity and community – about the real struggles facing a generation of young men, and the incredible strength they draw from one another through football.”

Celebrating grassroots football's unseen power

The documentary serves as tribute to grassroots game's unseen power - not just as sport but also as life-changing force. It highlights how sports can be used effectively for positive change within communities facing adversity.

"All In The Game" was financed by Danny Curran, star of "The Heir Hunters" (BBC), whose son plays for the team. The film is set to premiere at an invite-only screening later this month. The production team is currently seeking a broadcaster partner to bring this inspiring story to a wider audience.

"All In the Game" promises to be more than just a sports documentary; it's an exploration of resilience, identity and community through the lens of grassroots football. It's a testament to how sport can serve as a beacon of hope and transformation in challenging environments.
