The American football league will be available as a standalone subscription or an add-on for DAZN users worldwide

The NFL has joined forces with DAZN, a global sports streaming service, to offer fans all over the world live coverage of every game in the competition. This includes pre-season matches, regular season games and the Super Bowl.

Fans can also access other content such as NFL RedZone, NFL Network and documentaries through DAZN programming.

In addition to this move, Game Pass is now available on more than 100 devices including gaming consoles like PlayStation 5 and Smart TVs from Hisense and Sony.

One exciting new feature for fans is public watch parties for selected NFL games. Another useful innovation is a multi-screen feature that allows viewers to watch more than one game at once if they so desire; polls are also included allowing fans to voice their opinions whilst viewing statistics about their favorite teams.

In terms of accessibility, it’s good news as viewers can purchase subscriptions via an extensive number of telcos globally. The cost varies depending on location but prices have been frozen until the beginning of the season.

DAZN CEO Shay Segev shed his thoughts on the deal and said:

“Accessibility and innovation is at the heart of Dazn’s proposition, and that’s what we will be delivering for the millions of NFL fans worldwide. It’s going to be a whole new ball game, with more ways to watch, more features to engage with, and more great NFL content than ever before. This is a landmark moment for Dazn as we embark on a 10-year partnership with the NFL, focused on showcasing the sport, the fan experience and growth.”

Sameer Pabari who works as Managing Director for Media at both NFL International explained why ITV rather than BBC would show highlights earlier this year saying:

“NFL Game Pass has established itself as the must-have product for NFL fans around the world. Combining the full breadth of NFL content with Dazn’s powerful data-driven technology, global distribution network and marketing capabilities will help us grow NFL Game Pass to reach new international audiences and expand our fandom globally.”

DAZN is also looking to replicate the NFL Game Pass template with European leagues

This partnership sees data shared between broadcaster and provider alongside revenue sharing from channel subscriptions which will likely encourage growth within audiences worldwide according to Pabari who added: “…combining (this) with Dazn's powerful data-driven technology...will help us grow..."

The streaming service is also discussing similar agreements with other major European leagues, similar to those with the NFL, in order to maximize revenue.

As well-established broadcasters continue offering football-related content throughout Europe it'll be interesting what additional features DAZN will offer to set themselves apart.

The NFL Game Pass will cost £150.99 for a full season for UK viewers. It is available in instalments for £37.75 in four instalments and £14.99 for weekly subscriptions.
