Insiders have disclosed that Zirkzee might depart for a sum less than €40m

Manchester United is reportedly willing to sell their forward, Joshua Zirkzee, after just one season. The news has sparked interest from several clubs across Europe, particularly Serie A clubs Juventus and Inter Milan.

Zirkzee arrived at Old Trafford last summer with a promising résumé and the hope of bolstering United’s attack. However, according to Caught Offside, the club may already be ready to cut ties. Sources close to the situation have revealed that he could leave for less than €40m.

This revelation will alert clubs across Europe. Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan are already monitoring the situation closely. Fiorentina is also reportedly interested — especially if they lose Moise Kean.

Signs of promise but not enough

Despite his struggles in form, Zirkzee's time in Manchester hasn't been devoid of hope. There were glimpses before his injury that suggested he might yet blossom into the striker many expected him to be.

However, in a team where goals have often been scarce and pressure ever-present, promise alone doesn’t always earn patience. With Ruben Amorim set to take charge and expected to reshape the squad swiftly and decisively, it seems like Zirkzee's future at Old Trafford is uncertain.

Loan could offer lifeline

At just 23 years old with an impressive technical profile, there's still untapped potential in Zirkzee. For this reason, a loan may prove more pragmatic than a permanent sale. Caught Offside reports that "Zirkzee is understood to be of interest in a loan deal for Serie A clubs."

This route would give the Dutchman space to rebuild confidence in a more familiar environment while giving United time reassess their decision about his future at Old Trafford. The success story of Antony serves as an example here - his form has reignited since joining Real Betis on loan in January. Could Zirkzee follow a similar path?

The future of Joshua Zirkzee at Manchester United remains uncertain. While the club is reportedly willing to sell him, a loan deal could also be on the cards. With interest from several Serie A clubs, it will be interesting to see where the young striker ends up next season.
