Vincent Kompany heaped praise on Pep Guardiola

With a wide array of tactics and tweaks in his arsenal, Vincent Kompany has proved himself to be an exciting manager over the last few years.

In under a year, he has taken Burnley to the next level and the club is on the verge of qualifying for the Premier League next season as they are inches away from winning the championship.

His team is battling out against his old club Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at Etihad Stadium. It was obvious that the homecoming at the club where he had achieved almost everything was supposed to be a lot of hype.

On top of that, his encounter with Pep Guardiola was already labelled as master versus apprentice by the press.

Vincent Kompany shared an insight into his relationship with Pep Guardiola on BBC One's pre-match show with Alex Scott.

He said, "Everything started making sense after meeting him in 2016".

The former Manchester City player revealed that he has often asked Pep Guardiola for help during his managerial career.

Kompany said, "I have asked him for help but mostly during R.S.C. Anderlecht".

Vincent Kompany has done significantly well so far in his managerial career and even Pep Guardiola also appreciated his work during the same pre-match show.

Kompany's Burnley are currently leading the Championship league table with 83 points from 37 games and only two losses.

In more ways than one, Kompany has done more than just improve the standings of the club, he has injected attacking football into a Burnley team that was previously perceived as a defensive one.

Gary Lineker also returned to BBC One

The FA Cup clash between Manchester City versus Burnley not only saw the homecoming of Vincent Kompany but the return of Gary Lineker to BBC'S Match of the Day show.

During the last couple of weeks, Gary Lineker, the eponymous English football legend, has been at the center of a lot of controversy after the BBC suspended him from their show due to his comments he made on social media regarding the UK Government's policy.

Nevertheless, BBC Sports has resolved all issues regarding Gary Lineker and after receiving backlash from fans across the world, they have had no choice but to allow Gary Lineker to return to their iconic Match of the Day show as a result of the backlash.
