On top of that, his encounter with Pep Guardiola was already labelled as master versus apprentice by the press. Vincent Kompany shared an insight into his relationship with Pep Guardiola on BBC One's pre-match show with Alex Scott. He said, "Everything started making sense after meeting him in 2016". Vincent Kompany has done significantly well so far in his managerial career and even Pep Guardiola also appreciated his work during the same pre-match show. Kompany's Burnley are currently leading the Championship league table with 83 points from 37 games and only two losses. In more ways than one, Kompany has done more than just improve the standings of the club, he has injected attacking football into a Burnley team that was previously perceived as a defensive one. Gary Lineker also returned to BBC One The FA Cup clash between Manchester City versus Burnley not only saw the homecoming of Vincent Kompany but the return of Gary Lineker to BBC'S Match of the Day show.
