Besides The Overlap, Buzz16 also co-produced a documentary on Manchester United's treble-winning season for Amazon Prime

Gary Neville’s production company, Buzz 16 Productions, has made a remarkable turnaround by returning to profit after its main show, The Overlap, nearly doubled in value.

The company posted a pre-tax profit of £743,306 for the year ending on 30 June 2024 according to new accounts filed with Companies House. This is a significant improvement from the previous financial year when it reported a pre-tax loss of £180,365.

Despite this success story, the accounts also revealed that Buzz 16 Productions’ turnover fell from £13.1m to £11.8m during the same period.

Journey of Buzz16

Buzz16 was launched in 2016 by Gary Neville - an ex-footballer turned businessman and property developer who is also known for his role as a Sky Sports pundit. In November 2022 Miroma Group acquired majority stake in Buzz16 which was confirmed in February 2023 and announced plans for an IPO worth more than £200m.

Apart from producing The Overlap show, Buzz16 has been involved in co-producing an Amazon Prime documentary about Manchester United‘s treble-winning season.

During this profitable year for the company, it increased its workforce from an average of 44 employees to 66 while its wage bill surged from £1m to £4.3m.

Financial growth for 'The Overlap' and Miroma Group

Newly released accounts for The Overlap Limited reveal that its total equity increased over the same financial year from £223,784 to £406,493 indicating growth within this sector too. Miroma Group also saw impressive growth with results filed showing revenue increase from £255.6m to £275.6m at end of June 2024 and pre-tax profits surging up significantly from just over one million (£1.3m) to six and a half million (£6.5m).

In June 2022, there were reports that Miroma Group was considering a potential £1.2bn takeover of Channel 4 alongside actor Idris Elba. However, this move did not materialize as the previous government decided against proceeding with the sale.

Founded by Marc Boyan, the group boasts around 20 marketing agencies in its portfolio including Fold7 - the creative agency behind Ted Baker brand and responsible for launching Muji and developing Orange Wednesdays. Buzz16’s accounts for its latest financial year ending on 30 June, 2025 are due to be filed with Companies House by end of March 2026.
