Disney+ has renewed its distribution deal with the Brazilian sports streaming service, CazeTV, to provide coverage of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup national team soccer tournament in Brazil. This extended agreement ensures that CazeTV continues to be a part of ESPN's offering on Disney+, featuring live broadcasts of major sporting events.
The new agreement will cover not only this year’s men’s World Cup but also the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. For these events, CazeTV holds exclusive rights.
For the 2026 World Cup, Disney+ plans to consolidate all 104 matches broadcasted by CazeTV into one platform. The expanded tournament will include teams from US, Mexico, and Canada starting from Thursday through to July 19th final.
Anticipation builds for Brazil's performance
Brazilian fans are eagerly anticipating their national team's performance as they aim for their sixth World Cup victory since their last win in 2002. Their campaign begins against Morocco on Saturday (June 13), followed by matches against Scotland and Haiti. CazeTV was first launched in 2022 and has since become a significant player in Brazil's sports broadcasting market. It covered action from the men’s FIFA World Cup held that same year and recently secured a major rights agreement for Spanish soccer’s top-tier LaLiga.
This year alone saw CazeTV acquiring near-live and highlights rights for various top-tier South American soccer properties through till 2026 including Copa Libertadores and second-tier Copa Sudamericana matches. The streamer also added Italy’s Serie A to its soccer offering for the season of '25-'26 and recently included Germany’s Bundesliga to its portfolio.
CazeTV further diversified its portfolio by securing a rights deal with the International Olympic Committee to air the Olympic Games through 2028, as well as with World Table Tennis (WTT). The platform has also broadcasted some of the most high-profile sporting events worldwide, including all NFL American football games played internationally.
Growth & investment
The recent growth period for CazeTV has been significant, with parent company LiveMode securing soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo as a major investor.
Renato D'Angelo, general manager of Disney in Brazil, said:
“By bringing events like the FIFA World Cup, the Women's World Cup in Brazil, and the Olympic Games, we are further expanding our offering of relevant content, connected to different fan profiles, strengthening our position as the leading sports streaming destination.”
In related news, US national network Fox Sports has partnered with ReachTV to provide coverage of all 104 live matches to travelers nationwide. As part of this agreement, ReachTV screens across US domestic airports will show every fixture from the tournament’s opening match – Mexico vs South Africa – through the final. ReachTV will distribute Fox’s live match coverage, pregame shows, highlights, match replays and more throughout airport terminals and gate areas nationwide. The network claims to reach 51 million monthly viewers across over 80 airports.
