The sports industry is in demand more than we had ever witnessed, whether it's broadcasting deals or even documentaries everyone wants a part in it.
A number of people are seeking to infuse live broadcasts or screenings of the legend's autobiographies. In the same race, BBC has agreed to broadcast the Netball World Cup.
What better way to broadcast the world cup than to partner with a channel that has broadcast the Commonwealth Games since 1998? This year's agreement with BBC follows a similar one made last time around, which proved fruitful and paved the way for this year's.
World Netball CEO Clare Briegal said:
“It is very exciting to be announcing that the BBC will be showing all the action, from day four onwards, of the Netball World Cup 2023.
“For our pinnacle event to be broadcast free-to-air across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle Of Man is so important on our journey to grow and inspire, enabling the Netball World Cup to reach a wider audience, the fans of the Roses, Thistles and Feathers to follow their team and inspiring more people to get involved in netball.
“We have no doubt that this will be a world-class thrilling event, and we can’t wait to see and hear the fantastic coverage across the BBC. Thank you to the BBC for their continued support.”
Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, said:
“We are delighted to be showcasing the Netball World Cup 2023 free to air across the BBC. As a big supporter of women’s sport, we want to bring it to the widest audience possible. With great home nation representation, we’re hoping for plenty of drama and memorable matches.”
The World Cup is set to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 28th July to 6th August. From 31 July, fans will be able to enjoy this on BBC linear TV and iPlayer, as well as Sounds and on the BBC Sport website.
Extras of selective games with key matches will air on BBC's RADIO 5 live and 5 sports extra. Moreover, there would be the opening weekend fixtures between England and Malawi, as well as the England-Scotland series.
The enthusiasm to continue increasing and a host of platforms are being created to provide better viewing for these super enthusiastic fans.
