Some of the biggest clubs in world football can be found in the English top flight

Welcome! You're new to the Premier League if you're asking yourself this question. The questioning and search have brought you here. It's a good place to be as a fan of football. After more than three decades under this name, the Premier League has managed to attract fans from all over the world and you're one of them.

The tides that dictate the winner have changed. Football is no longer what it once was, but the number of fans is still growing. One of the main reasons for this trend is the quality of the game that English football brings forth. As someone new to the game, you're probably still looking for a team to root for. Let us help you with that decision. Was it the right decision, the time will tell, but for now please hear what we have to say. These teams need to be at the top of your shortlist.

Manchester United

Time is a flat circle, or that's what the Internet wants you to believe. Anyway, history has a way of repeating itself. The most successful team of the Premier League era is not what it once was. The days of glory led by Sir Alex Ferguson are long gone. Man UTD failed to win the title in more than a decade. Numerous coaches came and went and no one came close to repeating what the red-nosed Scottish legend did.  But, United remains one of the biggest clubs in the world with the biggest revenue. With money, there comes a prestige that other teams can't even aspire to reach.

From time to time, UTD manages to lift the FA Cup as they did last season or some minor European trophy. With Eric Ten Hag set to stay for another season, the team is looking to have reached even a semblance of stability that hasn't been seen from the time of Sir Alex. Their team is in a rebuilding phase, but they're looking to strengthen the weak positions, and with some stable talent already on the team and deadweight and high-wage players leaving, they could reach the glory of the old days in no time. So, the team with a lot of past success, none of it in the present is looking set for the future. That's what we believe at least.

At the moment, they can look at their latest young English star Kobbie Mainoo to lead the pack. They also have Rasmus Højlund, the Danish prodigy up front with Bruno Fernandes to create from the midfield. Of course, the team is lacking at the back and on the wings, but if Sancho and Rashford regain even a glimpse of their old selves UTD is in for a nice little future treat. If you're on the same page as we are, and you're in sports betting make sure that you back up Manchester United to win one of the Premier League titles in the next few years.

Manchester City

Well, if you've read carefully the first part of this article and you're remotely into football, you probably think that we lost our minds. But, we're not talking about only one season of Premier League football. We are taking into account the past success, the current situation, and the future outlook. When you take a look at things this way, you must not see further than Manchester United. But, their city rivals are right there behind them.

The city of Manchester has been blue in its core in the last ten years. The team with the most money, the best players, and the best manager is poised to succeed and they did so in the past decade. Will they be so good in the future? Yes, but only short term. The team is full of itself and the success it had in the past. During this and the next year they will have to find a way to replace Kevin de Bruyne, Pep Guardiola, and most likely Bernardo Silva. These are not people who you can replace just like that. Also, with their legal issues looming, we can expect that they start falling back behind their competitors.

In recent years we have seen that Arsenal and Liverpool can give them a run for their money. So, while we predict a not-so-bright future for this team, at the moment what they provide on the pitch is the cream of the crop. This should be enough of a reason for any new fan of the Premier League to start rooting for Man City as their own. What the future holds should be of little concern. It's just that because of our predictions, man UTD is sitting comfortably first.

Arsenal

Recent trends are all suggesting that maybe Arsenal could have been the team to top this list. The London powerhouse is everything one could have asked from their team. Rich history, a new stadium, a modern manager, and a quality team are all that attract fans. Mikel Arteta is a student of Pep Guardiola and is on a good trajectory to eclipse him in years to come. Arsenal is a rich team, a well-run company, and in the last two seasons, they have been one of the contenders for the title according to Stake and similar betting outlets.

Their team is a combination of youth and talent and they will only get better with years to come. They have some of the best defensive talent in the league in Saliba and Gabriel, while in front they rely on Saka and Odegaard to lead the way. Add Martinelli and Jesus into the mix, paired with Declan Rice and Partey and you have a nice foundation for future success.

After a long hiatus, they are now a regular team in the Champions League and the fans are hoping that the time is right for the team to top the Premier League. The days of Arsene Wenger are long behind us, but the fans still look fondly at The Invincibles and the likes of Robert Pires, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Sol Campbell, and Ashley Cole.  Will they repeat the success of the mid-2000s Arsenal teams is hard to say, but we believe that the new fans of Arsenal have a thing or two to look forward to in the next few seasons.

Liverpool

Only a year or two ago Liverpool would have been topping this list. Nowadays they are a team in turmoil. The long-reigning manager Jurgen Klopp has left the helm of the Reds and they are starting a new chapter. While the team is used to success and constant title challenges we can't say that they will have any of it in years to come.

But, of course, this shouldn't put new fans off. The new chapter begins with the new manager Arne Slot. The Dutch coach had past success with Feyenoord and he hopes to do the same in Liverpool. Will he manage? Time will tell. Luckily, he has a nice team to work with. At the back, his compatriot Van Dijk is still at the top of his game. When paired with any of their young CB prospects and alongside Robertson and Alexander-Arnold, he can still lead a top defence.

Also, no one should neglect that the Reds still have Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. They're potent both in front and at the back with quite solid midfield. This is a recipe for success and both old and new fans have something to look forward to in the next few years of the Premier League.

Chelsea

Chelsea has been a top team in English football for some time now. Yes, they're on a bit of a slip in the last few seasons, but that's to be expected due to the changes the club has been going through. New owners have brought a new philosophy which still hasn't managed to produce success. Chelsea has been spending money left and right in the last two years, and it's all been invested in younger players.

This philosophy doesn't pay dividends in European football but Chelsea's new owner Todd Boehly may know something we don't. What we know is that young and exciting talent always brings new and excited fans. With American philosophy, new fans could be thousands of young Americans just getting into soccer and soccer betting. With players such as Caicedo, Fernandez, James, Chilwell, Jackson, Sterling, and Palmer Chelsea has a bright future without a doubt.

The moment they start playing good football, new fans will flock to their side and you could be one of them. The Premier League is less fun with a bad Chelsea and we hope for their quick resurrection. The days of Jose Mourinho, Lampard, and Drogba are behind us and we can only hope that one of the new starts can take their mantle. With new coach Enzo Maresca who is yet another disciple of Pep, Chelsea is set to have a bright future, and new fans should have the Blues as their favourites.

Tottenham Hotspur

Of course, this list can't be made without the Spurs. They are an ideal team for new fans of the Premier League especially if you see yourself as an outsider. Tottenham has a long but not-so-rich history in the PL. They are one of the teams that have spent most years in the top flight without winning a title. The one year when they were close and seen as hot favourites Leicester City took it making their drought even worse.

What works in their favour is that they're rich, have a new stadium, a new and exciting manager in Ange Postecoglou,  are a well-run organization, and in recent years are not afraid to be bold. Yes, they have sold the long-time captain and the best scorer Harry Kane, but their team is still one of the top teams in England. At the back, they rely on Romero Van De Ven and Vicario, while their midfield is a well-oiled machine in the hands of Madison, Bentancur, and Kulusevski. The attack is led by Son, Richarlison, and Werner which should be exciting for all fans both new and old.

Considering their activity on the transfer market in recent years we can argue that they are going to be one of the biggest spenders on the market in the summer, and we can't stress enough how important this is going to be to making new fans. At the moment they're after Jacob Ramsey, Connor Gallagher, Wesley, Brahim Diaz, and Morgan Gibbs-White. With even one of these signatures, they would have become more popular than ever in the eyes of new fans.

Aston Villa or Newcastle

We're going to let you pick your poison here. These two teams are both in a great spot as far as the Premier League goes both historically and in the present. They are owned by wealthy individuals, are close to or in European competitions regularly, and have great management both in the offices and on the field with star-studded rosters.

The clubs are well-run, can attract talent, and are not shy of having great support from the stands. You'd be a bit of a rebel if you pick one of these two teams to support aside from the bunch we already listed. While you can rely on their performance in recent years and the next few years, these teams are not surefire success machines like Arsenal, City, or United.

This is what makes it so good to root for Villa and Newcastle. In addition to great fan bases, you can expect these teams to fight for Europe and to battle relegation all in a span of a few seasons. A bit of both worlds. For some fans, this is better than winning a title. Are you one of those fans?

Bottom Line

Football fans all over the world are in awe of Premier League football. Some even argue that all teams are big teams when in the PL. So, in addition to picking any team from the ones we've listed, you can also become a fan of Fulham, Everton, West Ham, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, or newly promoted Ipswich, Leicester, or Southampton. Pick your poison.
