Reports suggest that Spurs are eyeing Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola as a potential replacement for Postecoglou from next season

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou, is facing an uncertain future as the club reportedly identifies potential replacements. The Australian manager has had a challenging second season with Spurs, leading to speculation about his tenure.

In what could be seen as a blow to Postecoglou, Tottenham is said to be considering Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola. Despite a slow start at Bournemouth, Iraola has led the team to significant improvements this season. His impressive performance at Rayo Vallecano prior to joining the Premier League also adds weight to his candidacy.

Bournemouth currently sits in 10th place after securing only one point from their last four games. However, an 11-game unbeaten run around the turn of the year keeps them within reach of European qualification. They are also still competing in the FA Cup and are set to face Manchester City soon.

Comparing team performances

Spurs trail by 10 points behind Iraola's side despite recently managing a draw against them in league play. However, all hope is not lost for Postecoglou who still stands a chance of ending this season on high note with his team set for quarter-finals action against Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League.

According to The Athletic, if Spurs decide on parting ways with Postecoglou - whose future beyond this season remains "in serious doubt" - Iraola tops their list of potential replacements. Postecoglou still has another year left on his contract and could potentially remain at Tottenham despite recent struggles that saw them drift towards relegation zone before bouncing back with three consecutive wins in February.

Iraola too has one more year left on his current deal but he isn't the only Premier League manager catching Spurs' eye. Reports suggest that Fulham's Marco Silva and Brentford's Thomas Frank are also under consideration.

Recent performance

Spurs entered the international break with just one point from their last three matches, the most recent of which was against Silva's Fulham. The match ended in favour of Fulham thanks to late goals from Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon.

While Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain, it is clear that the club is exploring its options. Whether they decide to stick with their current boss or bring in a fresh face will likely depend on how both Tottenham and potential replacements finish this season.
