Thomas Frank, Tottenham Hotspur manager, has confirmed that team captain Cristian Romero will not be available for the upcoming Premier League match against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Romero sustained a minor adductor injury ahead of the Aston Villa game and has missed the last two matches. Initially named in the starting line-up against Villa, he was later replaced by Kevin Danso after suffering an injury during warm-up.
Thomas Frank, manager of Tottenham Hotspur, said:
"Cuti just walked out on the grass running [with] some of the performance guys. So positive, progressing, no time frame, but I don't expect it to be a longer one.”
Frank confirmed that the team will be without their captain, Cristian Romero, for the upcoming Premier League match against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium due to a minor adductor injury. This comes as another blow for Spurs who are already missing key players like left-back Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke. Udogie is still recovering from a knee injury sustained on international duty while Solanke is slowly progressing after an ankle surgery last month. The club's tenure under Frank has been marred by injuries with significant players like Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison also out with long-term knee injuries.
Struggles in attacking areas
With uncertainty surrounding Solanke’s return date and Randal Kolo Muani struggling to find form, Spurs are facing a shortage of quality attackers. However, other forwards such as Richarlison, Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and Wilson Odobert have stepped up their game recently.
However adding further woes for Spurs is news that Odobert might be doubtful for this match after picking up an injury during Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against Monaco in Champions League action.
In case Odobert misses out on this crucial game too; Brennan Johnson, the Wales international, is likely to replace him in the starting lineup against Everton. Injuries have been a significant setback for Tottenham Hotspur this season. However, with other players stepping up and potential returns on the horizon, fans will be hoping that their team can overcome these challenges and perform well in their upcoming match against Everton.
