The Queens League, the female counterpart of the Kings League soccer competition, has secured a broadcast deal with the All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN). This groundbreaking agreement will see AWSN broadcasting the 2025/26 season of Queens League live on its platform.
Under this new partnership, AWSN will broadcast league games in 65 markets worldwide. Key regions include North America - specifically the US and Canada - as well as India, Nordic countries, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, sub-Saharan Africa, UAE and UK.
This move is set to significantly expand global access to women's soccer competitions and further promote gender equality in sports.
Djamel Agaoua, chief executive of the Queens League’s parent company, Kings League, said:
“AWSN shares our belief that women’s soccer deserves the same excitement, visibility, and storytelling as the world’s greatest sports competitions. Queens League has had an incredible response from audiences in Spain and Latin America and we’re excited to work with AWSN to take it to new audiences in 65 countries around the world.”
Birth of Queens League
Queens League was established by former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué along with his Kosmos investment firm back in 2023. The league originated from Spain where female creators like Marina Rivers and Lucii have taken up team ownership roles.
Since its inception, it has expanded into Mexico where Mexican creator Alana Flores is among those managing clubs. In line with Kings League's strategy, Queens League has adopted a digital-first approach for its broadcasts. Games are streamed live on popular platforms such as Twitch and YouTube which allows for greater accessibility for fans around the world.
The league also leverages social media platforms effectively; one notable success story being a goal from Antonela Romoleroux that became viral as the most-watched female soccer goal in internet history.
Global platform for women’s sports
AWSN was co-founded by renowned US comedian Whoopi Goldberg along with Jungo TV – a Philippines-based streaming media platform. The network boasts an impressive reach of one billion homes globally while offering more than 2,500 hours of live women’s sports coverage annually.
The addition of Queens Leagues to AWSN's portfolio, which already includes the UEFA Women’s Nations League, Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour events, the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), and the International Basketball Federation’s (Fiba) 3×3 women’s series, further solidifies its position as a leading platform for women's sports.
This partnership between Queens League and AWSN is not just a win for both organizations but also for sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts worldwide. It signifies another step forward in promoting women's soccer on a global scale while providing more content options for viewers.
