Fulham Football Club is reportedly preparing a £10 million bid for Arsenal's Ukrainian international, Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Sun reports that the former Manchester City player, who has seen his role at the Emirates diminish, could be on his way out this summer.
Zinchenko, 28 years old and originally an attacking midfielder turned left back by Pep Guardiola during his tenure with Manchester City, made only 28 appearances for Arsenal last season. This decrease in playtime has led to him seeking more regular football to maintain his position in the Ukrainian national team ahead of next year's World Cup.
Fulham have been long-term admirers of Zinchenko and had previously attempted to sign him from Manchester City. Marco Silva views the Radomyshl native as a versatile player capable of operating across multiple positions. As a four-time Premier League winner who is settled in London, Zinchenko is believed to be interested in moving to Craven Cottage like Bernd Leno, Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe.
However, Fulham may face stiff competition from other clubs such as AC Milan, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund according to The Sun.
Impressive career record
Zinchenko boasts an impressive career record having scored twelve goals in 73 senior caps for Ukraine. He has represented his country at three consecutive European Championships. A surprise signing from Ufa by Manchester City back in July 2016 for £1.7 million; he made 128 appearances under Guardiola and was part of the City side that reached the Champions’ League final in 2021.
This potential move could provide Zinchenko with more regular playing time while offering Fulham a seasoned and versatile player. As the summer transfer window continues, sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts will be keenly watching how this potential deal unfolds.
