Despite the fact that NCB decided to show a large portion of the Premier League opening weekend on Peacock, they still amassed large viewing figures.
In fact, the biggest game of the weekend - Chelsea vs Liverpool - broke the record for the average minute audience for an EPL game on Peacock. That means there were more people streaming the match simultaneously than any other Premier League game in history.
According to NBC, there were 973,000 average minute viewers for the Chelsea vs Liverpool. This shows a 12% increase on the previous round. Last season, the match between Liverpool and Arsenal held an average minute audience of 872,000 viewers on Peacock.
It’s clear that NBC will be desirable for the bump in streamers, especially as the season continues. Last season, Peacock got an extra perk as they streamed several games exclusively. Both the matches between Manchester City and Arsenal were exclusively streamed on Peacock in the United States.
Season after season, the streaming service becomes more and more valuable to Premier League fans. On top of that, NBC puts Goal Rush, the whip-around show, exclusively on Peacock each weekend.
However, one can choose Peacock’s streaming plan as per their requirements. It is supported on devices like Apple TV, Android TV, Echo Show and Amazon Fire Cube. You can save up to 17% for an annual subscription to Peacock.
