Arteta is looking to add Darren Rogerson to his backroom staff

Arsenal, under the leadership of boss Mikel Arteta, is gearing up for a strategic raid on Manchester United. This move aims to strengthen their team and increase their chances of securing the Premier League title in the upcoming season.

Over the past two years, Arsenal has been in direct competition with Manchester United for the coveted Premier League title. Despite their best efforts, they have fallen short on both occasions. This consistent shortfall seems to have prompted a change in strategy from Arteta - 'if you can't beat them, sign them'.

In recent years, Arsenal has successfully signed several players from Man United. The most notable among these are Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko who switched Manchester for London shortly after Jesus' arrival at Emirates.

Darren Rogerson can provide a much-needed edge

According to The Athletic report, Arsenal has now set its sights on Darren Rogerson - Manchester United elite development squad analyst. Rogerson is expected to join the Gunners this summer and will start working with Arteta and the first team at the beginning of next season.

Before his tenure at Man United, Rogerson had stints at Sheffield United, Rangers and Derby County Football Club. He also worked with Man United's U18 side before being promoted to work with their Elite Development Squad (EDS).

Key to Arsenal’s success

Rogerson isn't alone as a former employee of Man United now working for Arsenal. Ben Chadwick was brought into Emirates as head of analysis after performing similar duties under Pep Guardiola at Etihad Stadium.

Nicolas Jover also made his way from Manchester to London following Arteta’s appointment as manager at Emirates Stadium. As a set piece coach who followed Arteta from Manchester to London he too has made significant contributions towards improving performance levels within the club.

In addition to coaching staff, Arsenal has also tapped into Man United's player pool. They signed Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus two years ago. Despite his contributions being hampered by injuries, he managed to score 19 goals in 69 appearances across all competitions. However, recent reports suggest that Jesus may be on his way to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Following closely on the heels of Jesus' arrival at Emirates was Oleksandr Zinchenko who also made the switch from Manchester to London. Arteta’s strategy of bringing in key personnel and players from Manchester United is a clear indication of his determination to boost Arsenal’s chances for the Premier League title. As we look forward to the new season, it will be interesting to see how these strategic moves play out and whether they will give Arsenal the edge they need.
