TV Globo will broadcast at least 25 of the 63 CWC games happening from June 14 to July 13

Heavyweight Brazilian broadcaster, Globo, has secured a package of rights to broadcast soccer's 2025 FIFA Club World Cup tournament. This comes as part of a sub-licensing deal with global rights holder DAZN.

The agreement will see at least 40 games from the competition aired in the US. Of the total 63 CWC games taking place between June 14 and July 13, TV Globo's free-to-air network will show at least 25 matches. In addition, Sportv pay-TV station is set to broadcast at least another 40 games.

DAZN had previously acquired global CWC rights in December and has since been striking sub-licensing deals across various markets. Despite these agreements, DAZN will continue to air all fixtures live after paying around $1 billion for worldwide rights.

Coverage by Globo

Globo’s platforms are set to cover all games involving the four Brazilian teams participating in the tournament: Botafogo, Palmeiras, Flamengo, and Fluminense. Additionally, they will also broadcast the opening match and final game along with "50% of remaining scheduled games," according to an announcement by the broadcaster.

The remodeled CWC now includes a total of 32 teams – a significant increase from previous editions – which means more action for sports fans. The matches are scheduled at times favorable for Brazilian audiences due to their location.

South America’s Conmebol representation

South America’s Conmebol boasts six teams participating in this year's competition - four from Brazil and two Argentinian sides (River Plate and Boca Juniors). This makes it one of the most represented regions in this year's tournament. This isn't DAZN's first sub-licensing deal in Brazil. In mid-March, it was announced that CazeTV, a Brazilian sports streaming platform run by the LiveMode agency and streamer Casimiro Miguel, would show at least 39 matches live. These games will be aired on CazeTV’s YouTube channels and integrated streaming platforms such as Samsung TV Plus, Mercado Play, and Amazon Prime Video.

DAZN has been expanding its reach globally through sub-licensing deals for the CWC in various territories including the UK (Channel 5), Spain and Italy (Mediaset), the US (Warner Bros. Discovery and TelevisaUnivision), and Egypt (MBC Group). The DAZN-FIFA deal was unveiled ahead of Saudi Arabia's Surj Sports Investments announcing last month that it had taken a minority stake in the streaming service for $1 billion.

Globo is one of soccer's leading broadcasters in Brazil with coverage extending to domestic league action through 2029, continental competitions, as well as the 2026 FIFA World Cup national teams tournament on a non-exclusive basis. This agreement between Globo and DAZN promises to bring more soccer action to fans across Brazil while also enhancing their viewing experience.
