The former Leeds United player said Leeds United left pitch too dry so that Spurs can't keep hold of ball during possession

Leeds United have had a nightmare season and they are all but certain that they will be heading for relegation. As a last-ditch effort to survive, they faced Tottenham Hotspur in their last fight for survival.

In order to survive, Leeds United were required to win the final match against Tottenham Hotspur, with Everton and Leicester City losing their respective matches.

However, Leeds' fortunes didn't seem to be improving. In the 2nd minute only, they conceded against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Leeds United team looked under pressure from the start of the match and started the game with 3 centre backs, which mirrored their negative mentality from the start of the game.

In addition to that, they are now accused of attempting to gain an unfair advantage by leaving the pitch too dry.

During the half-time show on BT Sport, former Leeds United and Liverpool player Gary McAllister accused Leeds United of intentionally leaving the pitch dry to neutralize Spurs' attack during the first half saying:

"Leeds wanted to make pitch slow"

"They have left the pitch too dry so that Tottenham can't make passes"

The pitch was very dry during the match as both teams found it difficult to keep hold of possession throughout the match due to the dry conditions.

In addition to criticizing Leeds United for leaving the pitch dry, Gary McAllister also slammed Sam Allardyce for his too-negative tactics.

McAllister criticized Leeds United's tactics for conceding the first goal on BT Sport's half-time show saying:

"Why are they playing with 3 centre backs in a must-win game?"

"A striker is playing at left-back!!!"

After the season, Leeds United will surely have a lot of questions to answer. Despite a strong start to the season, Leeds are now likely to be relegated from Premier League to the Championship and have to start all over again.
