From January 2026, JAS will broadcast Premier League games and highlights through its linear channels, and DTH satellite television

Thai telecoms firm, Jasmine International (JAS), has secured rights to broadcast English soccer’s top-tier Premier League matches in Vietnam for the next five and a half years. This move expands its exclusive league coverage in the region.

Starting from January 2026, JAS will air Premier League matches and highlights across Vietnam. The coverage will span the second half of the 2025-26 season, and continue through the 2026-27 to 2030-31 campaigns.

The broadcasting mediums include linear channels, direct-to-home satellite television, digital terrestrial television, cable TV, IPTV services, OTT services, and social media platforms.

Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, chief executive of JAS, said:

“Recognizing Vietnam’s strategic importance and potential, we reached an agreement with the Premier League to acquire the rights to broadcast Premier League football in Vietnam. We have selected FPT Telecom as our local distributor, with the partnership set to deliver a target of 1.5 million subscribers in the first year. This package includes nearly 200 matches from the 2025-26 season and another 1,900 matches over five seasons, from 2026-27 to 2030-31.”

Local OTT distribution via FPT Play

Local OTT distribution will be facilitated by an agreement with FPT Telecom - a subsidiary of Vietnamese telco FPT Corporation - and its platform FPT Play which boasts over 35 million subscribers.

The deal was struck with JAS and Monomax - the exclusive rightsholder of the Premier League in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Consequently all matches will be available on the FPT Play platform with Vietnamese commentary; some games even being broadcast live in ultra-high-definition (4K).

JAS replaces K+, a Vietnamese pay-TV operator that is part of France-based international broadcaster Canal Plus Group. K+ held rights since an initial deal made back in 2010 which was renewed to run from the 2022-23 season through till end of year 2025. Although currently airing matches for this ongoing season (2025-26), K+ recently informed customers it would cease broadcasting as of January 1st ,2026.

Building on existing rights

This new acquisition builds upon JAS’ existing regional coverage rights. The company had previously secured a major $560 million deal to exclusively air the top-tier league and England’s FA Cup knockout competition in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia for a minimum of three seasons starting from the 2025-26 campaign.

The deal included an option for JAS to retain rights for another three years - an option that was triggered in November 2024. As such, the agreement now runs through till end of season 2030-31. The initial three-year rights deal cost JAS $233 million; with the extension, total payment has reached $560 million. To fund this venture, JAS will utilize its existing cash flow and secure loans from financial institutions.

Meanwhile, FPT Play continues to add more sports content to its portfolio. This year alone it has broadcasted inaugural FIFA Club World Cup matches as well as tournaments organized by Europe’s UEFA and Asian Football Confederation. It also airs basketball games from NBA. This new partnership between JAS and FPT Play promises exciting times ahead for Vietnamese sports fans - particularly those who follow Premier League soccer.
