Cazé TV, Goat, and OneFootball have signed streaming rights deal for Bundesliga

Germany's premier men's soccer competition, the Bundesliga, is set to continue its multiplatform broadcasting strategy in Brazil for the 2024-25 season. The strategy involves broadcasting the competition on a variety of platforms including free-to-air (FTA) channels, pay TV and streaming services. The Bundesliga matches will be broadcast on TV Cultura and RedeTV FTA channels, Sportv on pay TV, and through Cazé TV, Goat, and OneFootball streaming services. This diverse approach ensures that fans have multiple options to catch their favorite teams in action.

TV Cultura will broadcast one match every Sunday while RedeTV will air one match every Saturday. On the other hand, Sportv plans to show two matches per round of games starting with this season’s opener of Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Bayer Leverkusen. For the second consecutive season running Cazé TV, Goat and OneFootball will also broadcast two matches per round.

This move not only increases accessibility for fans but also caters to an increasingly digital audience who prefer online platforms for sports viewing. The Bundesliga boasts several Brazilian players such as Yan Couto from Borussia Dortmund among others who are making their mark in German football. The extended coverage is expected to boost viewership given the local interest in these players' performances abroad.

Bundesliga establishing name in international market

Earlier this month, a long-term partnership was announced between Bundesliga and DAZN - an international sports-focused OTT streaming service - making it the exclusive Spanish broadcaster of Germany’s top-tier men's soccer competition starting from 2025-26 until end of 2028-29 campaign.

In addition to its expansion into Latin America via Brazil and Spain via DAZN deal; Bundesliga has also outlined various broadcast tie-ups across sub-Saharan Africa including new pay-TV partners in Angola and Mozambique. In early July, Bundesliga announced its return to Poland through a four-year deal with Eleven Sports, an international subscription broadcaster. This deal is set to commence from the 2025-26 season.

The Bundesliga's multiplatform broadcasting strategy in Brazil and other regions signifies its commitment to reaching a wider global audience. By leveraging multiple platforms - free-to-air channels, pay TV and streaming services - the league ensures that fans have numerous options to follow their favorite teams and players. This approach not only caters to traditional viewers but also embraces digital trends in sports consumption.
