The visit's main aim is to discuss sports marketing strategies and business models

In a bid to advance plans for a domestic league, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is leading representatives from Série A and Série B clubs and state federations on a study tour of Major League Soccer (MLS) and other American leagues. This move comes on the eve of the World Cup, signaling Brazil's commitment to enhancing its football landscape.

According to Globo.com, the delegation will arrive in the United States on Friday and stay until Sunday. The primary focus of their visit will be discussing sports marketing strategies and business models. CBF president Samir Xaud stated that understanding how elite leagues structure their businesses, build brands, and connect with fans is crucial for football development in Brazil.

The MLS has emerged as an important reference point for sport's growth in America. Its popularity has been significantly boosted by high-profile arrivals such as Messi and Suárez along with investors like Ronaldo and Beckham.

Who's on Board?

Among those traveling are Inter president Alessandro Barcellos, São Paulo's Harris Massis, Santos' Marcelo Teixeira, Vitória's Fábio Mota, Juventude's Fábio Pizzamiglio along with Grêmio CEO Alex Leitão and Bahia CEO Raul Aguirre.

This initiative isn't new; it follows similar exploratory trips made earlier this year when club executives visited Spain, England, Germany to study La Liga, Premier League & Bundesliga respectively. The trip’s final engagement is scheduled for Saturday when the group will attend Brazil’s World Cup opener against Morocco in New Jersey. This event offers an opportunity not only to enjoy one of football’s biggest spectacles but also observe first-hand how large-scale sporting events are managed in America.

As Brazilian football seeks to evolve and grow, these international study tours provide valuable insights into the workings of successful leagues. By learning from the best, Brazil hopes to elevate its domestic league and create a more engaging experience for sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike.
