BBC will also air England's second group match against Ghana on 23 June

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has announced that it will broadcast Scotland's first men's World Cup match since 1998. The game, which sees Scotland take on Haiti, is scheduled for 14 June. Additionally, the BBC will also air Scotland’s final group match against Brazil.

England fans can look forward to watching their team’s second group match against Ghana on 23 June via the BBC. The broadcasting corporation will also cover England’s knockout fixtures in the last 32, last 16, and semi-final stages if they progress that far.

However, England’s other Group L matches - against Croatia and Panama - along with Scotland's clash with Morocco will be shown on ITV.

Coverage of Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland

If either Wales or Northern Ireland qualify through March's play-offs - where both are among four teams competing for one spot- their group match against Canada on 12 June will be aired by the BBC. Moreover, two group fixtures for the Republic of Ireland are set to be shown if they successfully navigate through the play-offs.

The broadcasting rights have been divided such that the BBC has three out of four top picks in round-of-16 games as well as three out five top picks in round-of-32 matches.

Both broadcasters –BBC and ITV– have secured rights to show the final game live ensuring a wide coverage for viewers across different platforms.

Defending champions Argentina & other key teams' matches

Defending champions Argentina can expect their fans tuning into their group meetings with Austria and Jordan live via the BBC platform. Furthermore, two group matches each from France (2022 finalists), five-time champions Brazil, Netherlands and Portugal are also scheduled to be broadcasted by the BBC.

Director of BBC Sport, Alex Kay-Jelski, said:

"We can't wait to bring you the Fifa Men's World Cup. From (hopefully) England knockout games live on BBC1 and iPlayer to Scotland's crunch matches with Haiti and Brazil to glamour games featuring Messi, Mbappe, Ronaldo, Yamal, Salah, Haaland, and more, we will bring you the drama and analysis of the moments that matter. And the ones you can't stay up for, we will have you covered the next morning too."

Looking ahead, the 2026 World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. This marks the first time in history that three different nations will stage the tournament. The opening match is set to take place on 11 June 2026 in Mexico City, while New Jersey will host the final on 19 July.
