Fenerbahce president has reportedly met with Thomas Partey in London

Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, is reportedly on the brink of leaving Emirates this summer. The Ghanaian has been linked with a move away from North London following a meeting with a rival club president.

Partey's season has been marred by injuries, limiting him to just 16 appearances across all competitions. Despite his prowess as a defensive midfielder when fit, Arsenal manager Mikel Artey has adapted to his absence.

This season saw Jorginho, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard forming the core of Arsenal’s midfield. Their collective efforts have propelled the Gunners into another title race against Manchester City.

Jorginho's impressive performances in Partey’s absence earned him a contract extension. However, with Jorginho ageing and Partey frequently sidelined due to injuries, Arsenal must secure a new No 6 this summer to bolster their midfield for future challenges.

Zubimendi and Neves on Arsenal’s radar

Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi is high on Arsenal's wishlist. If he declines the move, Benfica midfielder Joao Neves could be an alternative target for the Gunners.

While fans eagerly anticipate potential arrivals at Emirates Stadium this summer transfer window, they are equally curious about where their departing star might land next.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have reportedly made significant strides towards securing Partey’s services. Club president Ali Koc has held discussions with Partey regarding a possible switch to Sukru Saracoglu stadium.

Although Fenerbahce appears to be leading in snapping up the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, they cannot officially bid until the summer transfer window opens. They also need to stay alert about other clubs expressing interest in Partey.

Saudi Pro League clubs following situation

In recent weeks, Fenerbahce's arch-rivals Galatasaray have emerged as potential contenders for the Ghanaian midfielder. Additionally, clubs from the Saudi Pro League are likely to present a lucrative contract offer to Partey as they continue their pursuit of well-known European stars.

Partey has also been linked with Juventus and Barcelona. However, given his age and recent injury record, it would be surprising if these European heavyweights make a move.

With Partey’s Arsenal contract set to expire in summer 2025, Gunners sporting director Edu is expected to secure a small fee for the experienced star. It has been suggested that Partey could leave North London if a €15million (£13m) proposal comes through.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on how this saga unfolds. Whether it's Fenerbahce or another club that secures Thomas Partey's signature remains to be seen.
