Willow TV will be providing coverage of all ICC events in the USA and Canada
In a major boost for Willow TV, Time Internet Limited-owned streaming platform Willow TV has announced that it has extended its affiliation with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for four more years. With the ICC T20 Men's World Cup scheduled for 2024, this partnership is going to give Willow TV a huge edge.
All ICC tournaments will be aired exclusively in the USA and Canada by Willow TV through the deal, giving Willow TV exclusive digital and television rights. In addition to the coverage of the men's and women's World Cups, the deal will also include coverage of the Under-19 World Cup, which is viewed as a sign that cricket will be promoted in the USA and Canada.
Geoff Aldrice, ICC Chief Executive informed the press about the new deal and said:
“USA is an important strategic market for the ICC and the direct partnership with Willow will provide us with a number of exciting opportunities to strengthen engagement with fans in the region. With content available across Willow’s digital and TV platforms, it is an incredible opportunity for new fans to enjoy and engage with the sport across North America.”
Satyan Gajwani, Vice Chairman of Times Internet also reflected on this historic deal and said:
“Willow TV has long been the home for cricket in North America. Having exclusively covered the ICC’s World Cups since 2015, we are excited to continue our partnership until the end of 2027.
