The Reds won away against Crystal Palace, but their performance was shaky, and the game changed with a red card to Ayew

In a recent Premier League match, Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager, admitted that the team was 'lucky' to secure a win against Crystal Palace. Despite their below-par performance at Selhurst Park, late goals from Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott led to a 2-1 victory for the Reds. This game marked an important milestone for Salah as he netted his 200th goal for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s performance at Selhurst Park left much to be desired. The team struggled throughout the match and failed to register a shot on target until Salah scored his landmark goal. Their second goal came from young talent Harvey Elliott, which turned out to be the winning strike.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, said:

"I'm a very happy manager, but I know we were lucky as well. If you only win your really good games, you have no chance to be successful and today was not a really good game from us," the Liverpool boss said.

"For 76 minutes, it was a really bad performance. We didn't have rhythm changes, we didn't have any kind of accelerations, we had no timing. It was horrendous.

"In the beginning, Crystal Palace were extremely high on confidence… They were good but we made it happen for them with bad passes and losing the ball in the wrong moment.

The game took an unexpected turn when Jordan Ayew of Crystal Palace received a questionable sending-off. This incident significantly impacted the dynamics of the match and arguably played into Liverpool's hands.

Klopp himself conceded post-match that luck had been on their side during this Crystal Palace fixture. He acknowledged that they needed things to fall in their favour in order to snatch those crucial three points away from home.

This admission by Klopp is not only refreshingly honest but also highlights how unpredictable football can be - even for top-tier teams like Liverpool who are expected always to dominate on paper.

Salah was again star of the day with 200th goal for Liverpool

One of the key highlights of this otherwise lacklustre match was Mohamed Salah scoring his 200th goal for Liverpool - an impressive feat that adds another feather in his cap as one of Premier League's most prolific strikers.

Salah has consistently proven himself as an invaluable asset for Liverpool over several seasons now. His latest achievement further cements his status within both club history and wider footballing folklore.

Despite having reached such a significant milestone, Salah remains focused on the bigger picture - leading Liverpool to another Premier League title.

While Liverpool's performance against Crystal Palace may not have been their best, it was a game of significant moments. Klopp's candid admission about their 'lucky' win and Salah’s 200th goal are sure to be talking points among sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike.

As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how Liverpool builds upon this victory. Will they continue relying on luck or will we see them return to their dominant form? Only time will tell.
