This deal is likely to extend to France and Australia by 2024/25 season

TrillerTV, a renowned streaming service, has successfully secured the rights to broadcast Eredivisie matches, the premier Dutch football league, in the UK and Ireland. This acquisition marks another significant milestone for TrillerTV as it continues to broaden its sports content portfolio.

The deal will enable 52 matches from the Dutch league to be live-streamed through TrillerTV's subscription platform, TrillerTV+. The coverage is scheduled to commence on 16 February with English commentary and a highlights show.

Adam Bigwood, VP of subscriptions at TrillerTV, said:

“We are delighted to offer live Eredivisie matches exclusively to our TrillerTV+ subscribers, This strategic acquisition further underscores our commitment to delivering diverse and premium sports content to our global audience.”

Moreover, this agreement is anticipated to extend beyond just the UK and Ireland. By the 2024/25 season, viewers in France and Australia are also expected to enjoy live streaming of up to 136 matches from Eredivisie. IMG was instrumental in facilitating this deal between TrillerTV and Eredivisie.

The change from FITE has been a revelation for fans

This acquisition signifies an important shift for TrillerTV. Previously known as FITE before undergoing a rebrand last year, it has historically concentrated on combat sports content. However, it recently embarked on what it terms as a "strategic move into the heart of football."

In addition to Eredivisie rights acquisition; they have previously secured broadcasting rights for AFC Champions League and Liga Portugal along with Asian Cup games in both UK & Ireland territories.

TrillerTV have also added new things for the UK audience

For sports fans - especially those interested in football - this development offers an exciting opportunity. It not only provides access to more diverse sporting events but also allows them greater flexibility when watching their favorite teams play.

Fans can watch games live or catch up later with highlight shows while English commentary ensures that viewers can follow along without language barriers.

With plans for expansion into France and Australia by the 2024/25 season, more fans worldwide will have access to Eredivisie matches. In conclusion, TrillerTV's acquisition of Eredivisie rights is a significant step forward in its strategic move into football territory.
